That's because of Floyds inactivity.. nobody here really uses Ring rankings although they are the closest IMO.. I still have Floyd ranked and though not certain of where, I have him ranked higher than Cotto.. Not to mention that Shane Mosely's win over Margacheato made him the number one welterweight.. so Cotto's not even number one in his division.. Cotto needs a win over Floyd which I think is possible and a win over Mosely.. Orrr he could take some time off and maybe Floyd and Sugar fight eachother and Cotto would only have to fight the winner

No..I think most people have there own rankings..they have Pwill ranked 10 smh.. and yes he needs to beat him again.. Cotto was the number #1 welter, He lost to Marg which made him number #2 and Marg #1, Shane beat marg which made Shane the #1 welter, so yes Cotto needs to beat Shane again or have Shane lose to Clottey to be the number 1 welter

if cotto beats pac and floyd beats marquez, the #1 spot should be fought out by them

in any case, pacman is #1 right now, so a cotto win should put him #1 and a floyd win against marquez should put him #2. i don't understand why some people here think he should be considered #1 for beating a lightweight whose trainer admitted that he has been having speed problem during camp

winner of pac/cotto = #1
winner of marquez/floyd = #2

UNLESS cotto beats pac and marquez beats floyd. if both pac and marquez win, the ranks should stay the same way and pac vs marquez would be fought at 140 lbs to settle their stuff once and for all

when floyd was campaigning at welter, he just beat a weak champ and fought against oscar and hatton (neither of them ranked @ 147), yet he still was considered p4p king

you don't have to be #1 in a weight class to be #1 p4p. btw, plenty of people could argue that cotto is #1 at WW. he beat the #1 and #3 guys

btw, your logic is pretty acceptable until you say that floyd beating marquez would put him #1. marquez isn't #1 nor on floyd's weight, so that ****'s ridiculous
