However, many don't feel he's good enough to jump to Crawford after seeing last night's event. He was getting touched too much, by Hooker, and Hooker is levels below Crawford! 1-2 more fights is all I'm saying! Why do you take that as an insult? Let him beat Pacquiao, Thurman, or Boots first!
I agree there are too many fights Ortiz can have before jumping straight to Crawford right now. It was a good performance from Ortiz last night but at the same time, beating Hooker in his first fight at 147 isn't really saying much tbh, and further more, what does Crawford really gain from facing Ortiz in the near future? If he beats him. then Ortiz was too inexperienced like they said about Canelo when he lost to Floyd, and If he loses, then it probably wouldn't have made financial sense for Crawford to even be taking that kind of fight for such little money when bigger names are out there for him for a lot more $$$......
real raw real raw likes this.

Please, show me where Vergil says Mikey “beat him up”? If anything I can show you Mikey saying how Vergil makes everyone look bad in the gym compare to him. Also, check out the link of Vergil vs Ramirez sparring, the kid does more than hold his own against a unified champ. As for what I witnessed last nite, that’s simple a 22 yrs old KO’ing a former champion in his 17th career fight. I know it hurts you to see Vergil levels ahead of Boots but that’s on Ennis if the kid don’t wanna fight legit completion that’s on him.

Crawford has made great money fighting lesser competition than Vergil Ortiz Jr.! I think Crawford fights winner of Taylor or Ramirez, because they're boith with Top Rank, not because they are better than Vergil Ortiz Jr.! Hopefully we Crawford vs. Porter next!

That one sounds good too, but I feel like GBP has plans for Ortiz and Ellis could potentially derail them. I'm wondering what GBP's plans are for Ellis.

I'm still looking for the best quote, but for now, we'll start here:

Vergil Ortiz Jr. Gives His Prediction On Mikey Garcia vs Manny Pacquiao: “Mikey Is A Better Version Of Marquez, Smokes Him”

After pushing forward with the narrative that he could move up two weight divisions and not only compete with Spence Jr. but flat out beat him, Garcia was made to look like a fool as he was dominated for every second of every round.

The Mexican native has since demonstrated that he can at the very least, hang with the best at 147 pounds as he thoroughly dominated former two-division champion, Jessie Vargas, in February of 2020. As for Pacquiao, he was last seen in the ring roughly a year and a half ago in 2019.

The future first-ballot Hall of Famer proved that he still has plenty left in his 42-year-old tank as he dropped and out mostly outclassed former WBA belt holder Keith Thurman.

While it was a great performance, Ortiz Jr. is still standing firmly in the corner of Garcia. In the welterweight contender’s opinion, he’s shared the ring on too many occasions with Garcia to start doubting him now.

“Mikey is the only boxer who’s broken me down in the ring. I’ve gotten ten times better just sparring Mikey than I ever did sparring anyone else.”

Just copy the title of the article, and paste it in your search bar. Vergil is very humble, which I like, and he admitted Mikey beat him up in sparring, and I believe that's when he was preparing for Spence! I wouldn't say it if he didn't admit it!

And as far as you're other comment, I agree about him being young and it's always better to wait a bit longer and get more experience, but, wether his ready or not for a top 5 WW really does not matter either, just like Ortiz said last night when asked about Crawford. If opportunity presents itself you have to take it, even if he lost to Crawford, or Spence, it would be a a learning experience you can recover from in his career because he's young. I'm going to tell you right now, win or loose, he would give anyone at WW a run for their money and I would take my hat off to Ortiz because it's a breath of fresh air to see a him take risk unlike other fighters like Charlo, Andrade, even Crawford himself who waste their careers wasting time and wasting their careers waiting for the perfect fight and payday. Regardless what happens this guy is a hanf
It matters because out of the five or six networks/promotions, you might be able to make one good commentary team...maybe? They're constantly making a narrative and just telling things that aren't happening.

But yeah, I agree on the rest. The casuals will **** on him for having an L but that's meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Search "Vergil Ortiz On Fighting Errol Spence "We're Not Going the Distance" on 3Kings Boxing. He tells the story of how Mikey punished him in 2018!

So far in his career Boots has fought nothing but cab drivers yet you think he’s ready for Bud and Spence, LOL. Lipinets is a good test but let’s not act like he wasn’t dropped by a lightweight in Mikey Garcia. As for Vergil every test that is put in front of him the kid continues to KO them now that’s special.
Hooker is no more of a test than Lipnets.
