    • Uppercut is going to be the punch that knockout Vergil Ortiz with that high guy shell. With his hands about the high guard defense gloves close to top of his skull. Don't counter punch well and shell up on defense

Ortiz said he wanted to fight Hooker at 140 though, to my surprise...

Good post, I agree. Great prospect but not quite ready for Bud or Spence.

Shut up, dummy. Typical hater. Hey, Ortiz has more fans than Crawford or Davis and is not even a champ yet lol...

            • This was a excellent card overall, Ortiz is good, vicous puncher, turn his punches over very well, good techniques, n smart got skills just after he throws punches sometimes abit careless and gets countered, same problem with hooker and hooker slaps alot, but ortiz is smarter sharper faster stronger.

Actually with that statement it sounds like you are the hater, Ortiz is still a relatively unknown prospect.

Not that he would have won but could have possibly made it through 12. I did notice that Ortiz seemed to have a bit of trouble fighting off the back foot when Hooker got enough confidence to try and walk him down but couldn't sustain it.

Overall I think Ortiz is a couple fights away from TC or Spence, I think his style is kind of set in stone an there isn't really all too much he will improve on. He seems like the type of fighter that is what he is, a strong bull, a come forward brawler. Main problem is that style isn't really built for longevity in boxing and he could possibly get burnt out or the wear and tear will set in with the older he get's. Ortiz took more punishment than people think tonight imo.

I'm thinking Boots Ennis, Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter or maybe even the winner of Taylor/Ramirez before he makes the leap sometime in 2022 if he can get through any of those guys.
You sure donīt knpw anything about Mexican/Hispanic boxers.....forward fighter that are built for longevity....look how many fights Chavez, Duran, etc had......and always in wars. Now look at how many fights your boring " slick " fighters had ( Whitaker, Leonard, Mayweather, etc )......just hugging and running ost of the time. Grow a pair !!!!!!!!

Unknown to whom?? Not to DAZN, the media and the fans in attendance who cheered for him and not for Hooker who is from the same area....Nobody wants to watch " slick " fighters.....

I'll keep it 100 here. Your nothing but a racist prick. It's obvious. I'm just being honest on what I see in Ortiz, I like the kid and look forward to seeing him progress, I'm not bias like your dum azz. All about race with you clowns. Overall Chavez and Duran did not fight like Ortiz. They got into brawls like every boxer but they also could be very technical. So far Ortiz has just been overwhelming his opponents like a bull, but hey if it's working for him then it is what it is, more power to the kid. Now F off loser...
