Uppercut is going to be the punch that knockout Vergil Ortiz with that high guy shell. With his hands about the high guard defense gloves close to top of his skull. Don't counter punch well and shell up on defense

This was a excellent card overall, Ortiz is good, vicous puncher, turn his punches over very well, good techniques, n smart got skills just after he throws punches sometimes abit careless and gets countered, same problem with hooker and hooker slaps alot, but ortiz is smarter sharper faster stronger.Last edited by jabbbbb; 03-21-2021, 01:50 PM.

I did notice that Ortiz seemed to have a bit of trouble fighting off the back foot when Hooker got enough confidence to try and walk him down but couldn't sustain it.
Overall I think Ortiz is a couple fights away from TC or Spence, I think his style is kind of set in stone an there isn't really all too much he will improve on. He seems like the type of fighter that is what he is, a strong bull, a come forward brawler. Main problem is that style isn't really built for longevity in boxing and he could possibly get burnt out or the wear and tear will set in with the older he get's. Ortiz took more punishment than people think tonight imo.
I'm thinking Boots Ennis, Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter or maybe even the winner of Taylor/Ramirez before he makes the leap sometime in 2022 if he can get through any of those guys.

Actually with that statement it sounds like you are the hater, Ortiz is still a relatively unknown prospect.
