He'd be a champion. Very similar to the Lennox Lewis before Emanuel Steward. Hed be champion and then probably get knocked out by lower tier opposition. Unlike Bowe he wouldve stayed focused and had a nice long career.

He wouldn't be the dominant champion he is now though

Love the analogy to Bruno. Excellent post.

Shut up. He fights nothing like Bruno.

He's more similar style/personality wise to Joe Louis than Bruno.

The young boxer, Dubois, is more similar to Bruno than AJ.

You need to watch Holyfield vs Foreman. Those guys traded bombs and didn't blink an eye about it.
Andy Ruiz has faster hands than George Foreman did. I’m not saying Ruiz is better but it’s a totally different style matchup. If anything AJ would probably get on his bike like he did in the Ruiz rematch and Big George would try to catch Joshua with a big right hand like he did Michael Moorer.

Lol Tua is probably the worst stylistic matchup for him on that list, him and tyson

Watch Bruno vs Lewis I, Frank Bruno had one of the best jabs of the 90's 'That is was one of the best displays of to good jabbers colliding'.

Bruno hit hard, and could box 'His fundamentals where on point' but apart from that he was just a text book fighter.

If you cannot stop Bruno in his tracks, you are in trouble.

Dubois is not as good as Bruno, the comparison between Bruno & Joshua is more correct.

Although I have never been impressed with Joshua's jab 'Heavyweights these days seem to have jabs with no authority'.

Jabs are ether used as a measuring guide, irritant or for show.

Joshua style probably is more suited to the 90's than Tyson Fury. Fury will ether steal few fights only as 'The Riddler'. Or get sparked out because of his clumsiness, to many correct punchers in the 90's that could just come down the middle, or get creative with power punches.

The Riddler is the version of Tyson Fury under Peter Fury.

Kronk Fury is this new version of Fury 270 + pounds, not much movement and more of a direct fighter. Fury for the most part of his career fought on this manner. It was around the Martin Rogan fight, did Fury first start employing his Riddler type bamboozling style.

Kronk Fury was always there, trying to appear.

Shut up? are you 12 years old? Yu want an adult response act like an adult...

There are many ways fighters can be similar... But AJ similar to Louis? Im going to assume you are joking, mocking my comparison.

Bruno: Slow feet, not much head movement, excellent puncher with great power... Not quite a pure puncher
AJ: Slow to medium feet, not much head movement, excellent puncher with great power not quite a pure puncher...
Wilder: A pure puncher comparable to someone like Shavers or Lyle.

I thew in some pure punchers to show a contrast. That is how I see it. Tell me, in a constuctive fashion please, what I am missing

                    People always overrate the past

i guarantee in 20 years time, People will be saying the current crop of heavyweights at that time wouldn’t have stood a chance against Fury, AJ etc..

The truth is none of them had ever fought someone as big as Fury that could box like that. AJ would be a huge fighter then too. If Wilder catches any of them, he cleans them out.

The 90’s had some very good fighters and the rest were just ok. Guys like Tua probably wouldn’t have beaten AJ, maybe one or two times out of ten on the right night. He never won a world title for a reason. Stick a jab in his face with a bit of reach and he was one dimensional and useless, like Chisora or something.

They were a bit smaller, moved faster, hit harder and were all pumped to the gills with mad levels of steroids.

I think Joshua would of struggled. I love how this era of the division is competitive but I'm not overly impressed with the level of talent.
