Tua knocked out four world heavyweight champions (Ruiz, Moorer, Rahman, Maskaev). He does the same to Tyson. He wasn't the same guy anymore.

Tyson studied and had a whole methodology to his approach. He had fast feet, at his best he had head movement, and he could hit with both hands for the KO. Tua, was essentially one handed fighter, with little reach, slow feet, and no mobility. Certainly taking a punch could be demoralizing, but all Tyson would have to do is stay away from Tua's left side. What could Tua do to Tyson? compared to what Tyson could do to Tua?
If it was a more fresher prime Tyson I would go with him. There was a time that they could had fought and Tyson was much older so at that point skill wise I would had gone with Tyson but would not been surprised if Tua would had gave him a hard time. Tyson has always had to power to KO any fighter if he was able to land.

Everyone talks about Tua's punch resistance, but people forget? Nobody stopped Mike Tyson in his tracks with a single punch EVER 'It took sustained heavy bombardment to deter him'.

Both Tua & Tyson had elite level durability.

Mike Tyson offense even in the mid-90's was by far too sophisticated for David Tua, to just wade forward with a second hand Joe Frazier bob and weave. Mike Tyson would have no issue finding the target 'The Tyson who fought Bruno II, was not easy to hit and was a sophisticated violent individual'.

I think Mike Tyson wins, because David Tua will be unable to inflict sustained heavy bombardment. Tua may land a big punch here and there, but Mike Tyson will be landing multiple punches etc

David Tua will be right there in-front of Mike Tyson, he not running away 'Because he can't run away' and that is not how he fights. Tua even at his peak was not physically fast enough, to beat Mike Tyson 'Tyson was fast physically, but his thought processors were also extremely fast'. When Mike Tyson sparked out Frank Bruno, he threw a dummy punch 'He faked throwing a left hook, which induced a state of involuntary confusion within Bruno' as he seemed to brace just to take the punch, because he could get out of the way 'The action was happening too fast'.

This is the type of sophisticated violence David Tua is going to have to deal with 'It will be a exciting fight because Tua is tough, but so is Mike Tyson'.

Tyson folds after not being able to take Tua out early and Tua scores a brutal KO between 8 and 12

yeah I am assuming a Tyson is reasonably good form.

Tua only had problems with being outboxed like Lewis & Byrd did, most that tried to go at him moving forward got KO'd. Mike had all around superior skills but wasn't going to outbox him, at that point it's whoever would have landed square first, and it would have boiled down to who had the better chin ... Tua.

I'd have bet the underdog (Tua) on that one, with Mike's big name the odds would have been fat.

Tyson literally beat no one worth a damn after his release from prison and folded whenever he got pressed

Tua makes him quit. Tua would take Tysons best and hit back, HARD and that's a recepie for quittage.

Lewis literally had to pound on Tyson with dozens of right hands to drop Tyson after eight rounds. Tua tasted that smoke maybe once or twice then wanted nothing more of Lewis and refused to engage. The only guys who beat Mike knew how to tie him up and outbox/bomb him. Tua was, with all respect, a poor man’s Tyson. Same size. Same approach. If Tua came straight ahead looking for war w Tyson that’s a wet dream scenario. Fireworks. Too many tools and superior ambidextrous power. Tyson KO’s Tua and he does it inside seven rounds. Either that or Tua resorts for that bs pitty pat boxing refuse to engage like he did vs Byrd and Lewis and survives to lose on the cards. Either way, Tyson.

Tua would have made Tyson DQ himself. Much like Holy did. Tua has better punch resistance and his chest contains a massive heart.
