Instead of constant sparring to stay in shape and stay busy while waiting for a fight... Why not make money, stay ready, and fight for real instead of just waiting around for months upon months to fight?

I mean if you look at boxrec... He fought Oct. 9th of 89. and fought on the 27th of the same month....
I just wanted to repost this so that I make sure everyone reads this, because this is the TRUTH....

who cares if he beat a lot of nobodies. he also has multiple wins over top ten competition, including plnety of future or former world champions.

        Mario Martinez(#3)
        Roger Mayweather(#2)
        Rocky Lockridge(#2)
        Juan LaPorte(#3)
        Edwin Rosario(#1)
        Jose Luis Ramirez(#2 or 3)
        Roger Mayweather II(Top 4)
        Sammy Fuentes(#9)
        Meldrick Taylor(#2)
        John Duplessis(#9)
        Angel Hernandez(#10 or higher)
        Hector Camacho(#4 or higher)
        Greg Haugen(#9)
        Terrence Alli(#3)
        Frankie Randall(#1)
        Tony Lopez(#9 or higher)
        Giovanni Parisi(#7)
        David Kamau(#6)

the 89-0 doesnt mean much by itself. add in the fact that he was fighting very high level opposition, and it means a hell of a lot more.

its also overlooked that Chavez fought and beat two of the fastest fighters in the history of boxing, Hector Camacho and Meldrick Taylor.

he was 10 years into his career and at his 3rd weight class before his first controversial fight(Meldrick Taylor) and 13 years into his career and 4th weight class before his first loss(Whitaker)

Those were only stay-busy fights in between real competition. Chavez wanted to fight almost every month.

Pernell Whitaker fought a 7-4 bum named Ben Baez before taking on Julio Cesar Chavez and Buddy McGirt. He had also fought 12-13 Jerry Smith and 7-16 Martin Galvan while reigning as the world champion.

No one thinks Chavez is great because of his undefeated record. Use your brain.

That's just the problem.......they don't know how to usde their brain. A lot of old-time fighters has padded record, but it's also littered with ATG's and HOF. 89-0 takes a lot of consistency. And for the one who says 39-0 of PBF is more impressive.....just 39 fights and Floyd is already complaining of his body breaking dow. What more if he has double that fights....even against bums.
