Look a Floyd, IRS about to wipe him of whatever he has left. You must understand, fighters fight for the millions of dollars they make, while risking their lives. Cotto's belt is on the line on this fight, if he loses, he loses the belt but the money is his. Again, fighters risk their lives for the money, not to please the fans. Yes, they want to give you a great fight, because if you enjoy the fight, most likely you will purchase the next event, meaning more money for the fighter. Boxing is a business, and it is not a long career, you have the rest of your life after retirement and you have to be smart about your earnings.
I agree with your statement but just don't come out and say that something is not right and fair and after they show you extra money he know thinks if right and fair (talking about Cotto obviously)???

if he would had come out and said i'll put the title on the line but there has to be more money or benefits i wouldn't be dissapointed becasue he would had been speaking the truth but this was not the case.

Now as a Cotto fan I really don't care because in the end Pac is ******** with the wrong Puerto Rican and will not make history against Cotto.
But let's say he does...I say put an Asterisk in the record books under the weight he won in saying *the WBO rules were changed for this fight and this fight only*.
damn cotto fans are so bitter.

People need to stop using the excuse of the catchweight and how it could affect Cotto If it would had been 143 or less as initially intended then Cotto would be in danger but not at 145. For his last fight Cotto weighed in at 146 and even Cotto admitted that he was close to that weight 2 weeks before. If Cotto loses it's just because Pacquiao was better. I still disagree that the title should be on the line for a 145 Max weight but there's nothing we can do about that now. Cotto had a price and was bought.

However i beleive that his strong and quick jab can disrupt Pacman's offense and make him think twice before trying to throw those 4-6 or even 7 punch combo and leave himself exposed to a heavier punch from Cotto. Remember Cotto's strong jab has knocked down oponents, heavier, bigger and stronger than Pacquiao and Cotto himself for that matter. When Cotto has faced fast boxers he has been able to change their whole gameplan and in occasions match their handspeed (Paulie, Judah Mosley). Not saying that he will match Pacquiao's hand speed but he is quicker taller and stronger than any opponents that Pacquiao has faced even those that had some success landing hard against Pacquiao.

The star from " Boricua " is getting to be like Floyd Mayweather trying to hype his big fight against Manny Pacquiao. After his fight with Manny, he will soon find out that he disgraced the name of Puerto Rico by losing the fight. My message to Miguel: You may have gotten what you asked for to put your title on the line, but in the end it's all about money for you. You were done as a boxer when you lost to Margarito ( whether he cheated or not ). Clottey won that fight against you, but for some reason they handed you the victory. The are only two spots in your body that, I think, Manny will ferociously target. Your right eyebrow and your mouth. Good luck in your fight.

dude, you need to calm down with your negativity 'cause both fighters are happy and agreed to face each other on Nov. 14. Aren't you happy that your idol is getting the biggest paycheck of his professional career and a bigger chance to earn more if he beats Pacquiao? Chances like that doesn't come often to a fighter. It looks you're getting too much affected by the 1 lb. cotto needs to work on come weigh-in night. Meaning 145 lbs is no big deal with Cotto.

Cotto obliged beforehand with the catchweight when offered to fight Pacquiao. You already know that Cotto is just using the catchweight card just to get a little more money for him.

So, if you don't mind stop crying about it 'cause it's getting old.

                  PEACE

I feel like this situation is unfair, Cotto is the 147 champ, has a big resume at this weight, but is treated like ****. Just because Pacquiao is the superstar, Cotto is treated like an animal and has to give on the weight, the money percentage, just to make the fight happen. When i see that, business wise Team Cotto sucks.
Floyd the ducker and Leo Ellerbe do a better job and never get ****ed. Frankly, 145 and 147 are not so different but it's about principles. Team Pacquiao is ****ting on Miguel Cotto's history.

Right now it's Pacquiao's time, however, if Cotto get lucky and beat Pacquiao I'm pretty sure Cotto's will do the same thing and dictate the stipulations for his next big fight. It's just a matter of who's the biggest star of the moment.

That's the way it goes in boxing and most of professional sports.
