  • Not to diminish Pacs abilities...he's my 2nd fav fighter and i won't diss him, but if there ever was a "lucky" punch, i think it might, again I stress might have had to do with a little luck that pac got that super clean, pefect devastating blow to Hattons face. Pac had most if not all his weight in it and it was delivered perfectly. But pac is the one responsible for calculating and timing that shot.
I will never foget that shot as long as i live. It was nothing short of freakin' astonishing. 2nd round.

Huh...so, maybe what I'm trying to say is that luck has little to do with it, imo. Punches and strategies are the responsibilities of the boxer and corner team to utilise to the max, and to carry out their plann of attack, or to adapt if neccasary. I'm not so sure if i take much stock in luck. it seems in even everyday life you prepare your self for what the next days possibilities, or repercussions.

Now some ******* with a gun holding you up or having your house broken into..now that would probably fall into the "luck" category...not so sure about boxing. Boxing is too controlled by both fighters. At least that's the way it seems to me.

    • Big win for Puerto Rico indeed.

      R.I.P Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.

Have you ever boxed? When I got hit no matter what it was my fault for not moving or blocking. Also a good opponent will work you into position so they can hit you. Also even if I couldn't see the target I always punch with intentions to hurt. Tarver KOing Jones as he was getting hit and just throwing the punch is not luck, he threw with that intention. I'm very serious of an example in boxing, not on any other sport that a ball might do a weird hop and gets away

My message to Miguel: You may have gotten what you asked for to put your title on the line, but in the end it's all about money for you. You were done as a boxer when you lost to Margarito ( whether he cheated or not ). Clottey won that fight against you, but for some reason they handed you the victory. The are only two spots in your body that, I think, Manny will ferociously target. Your right eyebrow and your mouth. Good luck in your fight.
Why wouldn't he try to hype the fight?Isn't that what boxers and promoters are supposed to do for big fights,is this wrong in some way now that they try to spark interest and get people to buy the PPV?Remember boxing is a boxers job, that's how they get their income so sorry to tell you but it's all about the money for every fighter out there and if they are very good at what they do history and fame just happen to be an added bonus.

I think Cotto has just the right attitude re; respect for Pac, and i doubt he will be sitting on anything but his stool between rounds. Cotto don't need to be so concerned "but not dismiss) Pacs power. He's proved he can take more than pac can give in his fight with cheato and Clottey, who are very hard hitters.

Cotto main concern needs to be just what it is...with Pac's speed and agility and elusivness, which he is adressing with very similar sparring parters. More than 1, also. He'll be ready...no excuses. both will be well prepared, I think.

I agree, pretty much. There's no such thing as a lucky punch.

Don't get me wrong, I think this is one of the best matchups available that looks promising with a lot of action. I'm happy that all the BS politics are out of the way and hope that both stay healthy so we can enjoy the fight(the way injuries have been cancelling fights all year has been a little frustrating). I give Cotto the edge cause of the size but wouldn't be suprised if Pac puled it out. Plus if Pac wins we will be witnessing the greatest boxer in our era and we watch live as it was happening. I'm not naive, I'm very realistic (even if I like it or I don't)

That's the way it goes in boxing and most of professional sports.
If Cotto beats Pacquiao it wont be because of luck!!
