I'll be rooting for the smaller, older fighter Juan Manuel Marquez.

When JMM was Floyd's age, he was fighting at 126. Floyd at 31 is a natural welterweight, that's why he's forcing JMM to come up in weight. JMM is still a natural feather weight, and only moved up to follow Pacquiao for a big fight. He looked small even compared to the lightweight Juan Diaz.

But I think Mayweather, who has a longer reach than heavyweights Tyson, Marciano and Tua, will win because of his size advantage and younger age. Still, JMM is a great old fighter and nothing is impossible! It would be very good for the sport of boxing if JMM wins.

If Floyd is not a natural welterweight, why wouldn't he fight Hatton at 140? Why won't he fight JMM at 135?

As Floyd went through his 20s, he filled out and by his late 20s when he became fully mature, he became a natural welterweight.

But I'm not criticizing Floyd for this fight. JMM called him out and wants this fight.

No. Your natural weight is the weight you prefer to fight at, the weight you feel most comfortable and capable fighting at, not the weight you balloon up to from too much beer and junk food.

For Ricky it's 140 - that's the weight he has prefered to fight at. He wanted to fight Mayweather at 140, but Floyd insisted the fight would be at HIS natural weight, 147.

Mayweather. Marquez is not from my country. He didn't fight for our olympic team. He has his whole country behind him. I have nothing in common with him. Most of the US doesn't look at it that way.

if this guy thinks that Mayweathers "reach" will be the difference in the fight, he is wrong...as i recall De La Hoya has a 6 inch reach advantage over Pac...and Pac was moving up.....

while i have been watching since he retired...i was left thinking, "damn the sport is kinda boringwith him gone" even though there were some good fights...the energy just wasnt there.


i dont care what people say but ill say again.. ithink that floyd makes other fighters want to step their game up...i mean, who doesnt want to be compared to a great talent
