okay, your not a hater but he didnt' get hurt from a shot to the chin. his chin is fine. he got hurt with a temple shot. obviously you werent paying to much attention since he never got hurt by a chin shot. he took those shots with ease.

It's really not that simple guys. Hitting someone on the chin causes a concussive effect because when you hit someone there, especially at the right angle, it will cause the whole head to violently move, shaking the brain or bouncing the brain against the skull.

People who say Cotto has a weak chin, they sort of do have an argument. They are just much too simple with it. First off, Cotto was hurt by Sosa a little too much with one punch right on the chin from a very small guy. Secondly, some people believe N'dou hurt Cotto, and Cotto was running at some points in that fight, but I myself do not remember specifically if and when he was hurt. Finally, we have the Corley fight, and everyone saw what happened there.

"Chin" is just another way of denoting someone's ability to take a punch. A punch to the temple, in my opinion, is equivocal to a punch directly on the chin...not in the mouth, on the nose, or on the forehead, but directly on the chin.

When you factor these things in with the fact that Cotto wanted to move down to 135 lbs recently, but of course could not, it's not hard to see why one might think Cotto has a pedestrian chin and is trying desperately to make 140 lbs in order to protect it.

if corely hit him with that same shot, the way cotto was coming in with all he had,he wouldve gotten wobbled the exact same way.

Some fighters like Foreman could take shots to the temple and to the chin, and when most people say chin they mean whether or not they can withstand a punch period,if a guy goes down from being hit on the head, temple or not, he doesnt have a good beard..if you suffer from temple punches and not from chin punches,well then I'm sorry but you have a weak beard. I agree that a temple shot hurts people a little bit more, only noticing this from punching others there, but there are plenty of other spots that are weaker than thne temple, such as right behind the ear on the brain stem.

dont act like if you get tapped on the temple you go down, like it's the 'touch of sleep' lol, nigel benn has been smacked on the temple repeatedly and didnt go down from em,foreman,marciano,ali,frazier,etc (when foreman landed a temple shot on frazier he went down,however foreman hits much harder than feeble corely)
