While I like Willaims to win this fight I don't think that going toe to toe with Pavlik is the best stratergy. Look what happened in the Taylor fight. I would not count Kelly out if that is going to be Peterson stratergy for this fight.

It has been brought up earlier in this thread that a lot of people turned their back on Kelly Pavlik after he suffered that loss to Hopkins, and there is some truth to that. I didn't necessarily turn my back on Pavlik after that loss, but I did lose some respect for him because of it. He viewed Hopkins as an easy mark for a nice chunk of change and it back fired on him. I know Pavlik's options were limited. And that match between Pavlik and Hopkins would've never happened if Williams would've accepted this fight when it was on the table last year. I don't know how much Williams is going to be getting paid compared to the offer last year, but he isn't going to get as much credit for the victory as he would have when Pavlik was on a high note.

I did not see the Zuniga or Berbuch fights as well as a few others. I assumed that the Taylor fight was the first time he had been dropped because I had never seen him dropped in any of the prior fights of him thay I'd seen. I'll have to find those other ones to peep that out.

nobody is gonna give williams any help with his name.. he needs to start trash talking like he did today with kelly this is a business.. and unfurtunately for williams.. his name doestn sound enough out there.. so he needs to improve that.. just to make ppl to know him...... since his boxingskills havent been enough to convice the regular fans that hes a TOP FIGHTER...

i really loved that because heres a guy that needs the spotlight to show his skills.... good or bad promotion is still promotion.. so.. kudos to team williams for finally realizing this!!

I said the same thing. Seems to me like Champ got it
in for Paul. But even Dan Rafael on ESPN said Williams
is a WAY TALENTED fighter than Miguel Cotto and Champ
thinks the world of him and to many that I mingle with
have stated that Cotto is overrated. The difference between
the two is that Cotto has reached his peak and is not getting
any better but Williams gets better each time he fights.
Talking about the Margarito fight was close? What about
the Clottey fight with Cotto? I bet Champ would say that
the Mosley/Cotto fight wasn't close and clearly that fight
was closer than Williams/Margarito. AND to top it off, Cotto
has Williams WBO belt that he didn't win from him and
won't defend it against lil Pac? Not trying to make it a beef
on boxing thing but I have been noticing the hate on Williams.
How can Champ say that Williams is not good but dominating
but praise Cotto who's been struggling? Kelly has power and
experience at that wait but Williams is a handful for anyone
from 147-160.
