Mayweather is a great fighter love him or hate him, but its true that the got his money because Oscar and Hatton w/o takin away that he was the #1
P4P at that time. PPV numbers for Mayweather in his next fight are critical in a future negotiation with Pac, and I dont see possible that he can beat the Pac/Cotto numbers not even puttin a really great undercard like they tryin to. Lets see how it goes

By your reasoning Floyd should sell out Detroit then against Clottey? BS! We all saw how well Floyd sold in Flint. Floyd does not have a loyal fan base willing to buy tickets. Hatton, Pac, Pavlik and Cotto all have loyal fan bases willing to buy tickets to watch them fight pretty much regardless of who the opponent is. Heck, Judah actually brought more of a fan base to the table when he fought Floyd. I was at Judah/Spinks in St. Louis and there were as many cheers for Judah as there were for Spinks in St. Louis.

But NO OTHER FIGHTER with their fan bases has done
more #'s than Floyd and Pac against De La Hoya and
Hatton. People wanted to see Floyd fight Judah because
the fight was long over due AND in no way did Zab have
the same amount of people in St Louis as Spinks because
Brooklyn mofo's ain't traveling that far. Most New Yorkers
NEVER even go off the block. Clottey is not a Boxing Superstar
Floyd against Pac/Cotto/Mosley would do good #'s and ticket
sells. Pac has a country behind him and his #'s for JMM wasn't
that impressive. Cotto respectively would do more than all of
them at the Garden on the Eve of the P.R.D.P because of the
theme.

But it's true. Floyd can't sell ****. People didn't buy tickets or buy ppv to watch Floyd-ODLH for Floyd, they all wanted to see Oscar. Why do you think Floyd let the fight happen in the UK? Because EVERYONE there at the time, loved Hatton. Tickets practically sold out because they wanted to see Hatton not Floyd.

Why do you think JMM-Floyd is going to happen on the weekend of a mexican holiday? Because JMM is one of mexico's greatest, so mexicans will want to watch him.

You mention 3 names of celebrities. Get a clue. You are a long way to 10,000 fans. Denzel, Snipes and Jay Z are all rich big time boxing fans. They would be at any hyped mega fight regardless of the fighters. Where were all the Mayweather fans when he fought Phillip N'dou?

i mentioned everybody that mattered. british fans travel. watch the english premier league soccer and you'll see what i mean. even the ****ty teams draw pretty good. besides if i lived in england id be trying to get on a plane to vegas too.

Hatton is correct! The best fighters do not always sell tickets, the most popular ones do. Think of these fighters: Oscar de la Hoya, Felix Trinidad, Ricky Hatton, Arturo Gatti, Mike Tyson, etc. Those fighters didn't always win (especially towards the end of their career), but they always sold tickets. Put that in your pipe and smoke it Floyd......
