The de la Hoya fight sold twice as many as Oscar's fight against Pacquaio. You are delusional if you think 2.4 million paid to see Oscar in one fight but only 1.2 million paid to see him two fights later. Those tickets sold because of Mayweather the same applies to the Hatton fight.

Also, I have seen the numbers for his previous PPVs. All of his PPV fights have sold better than Pacquaio's and Cotto's.

The annoying thing is like someone else mentioned is he is completely diluded with his self-proclaiming being the undisputed "cash cow" of boxing, ricky, oscar, calzaghe, pac can sell tickets on their own he should be on that level but he is not, its a shame cos his talent deserves it.

I think the US boxing fans are partly to blame they are not supportive enough, if marquez vs mayweather was in the UK it would have sold out months ago
Another delusional hater. You need to go back and look at the PPV numbers before making such ridiculous comments. Ricky Hatton could sell 20,000 seats in his hometown prior to fighting Mayweather, but he couldn't sell 5,000 in America before Mayweather. Hatton had never appeared on PPV in the U.S. before fighting Mayweather (although he did have one PPV in England against Kostya Tyszu). Calzaghe's fight against Jeff Lacy sold 12,000 tickets in Calzaghe's HOMETOWN. That was the largest audience he had ever drawn at the time and that was his 40th fight. Prior to that, the most tickets Calzaghe ever sold on his own was 7,000. After the Lacy fight Calzaghe became a big ticket seller. Pac's fight against Eric Morales only sold 250,000 PPV buys and that was his biggest seller before Oscar de la Hoya. His second fight against Marquez sold only 150,000 PPV and his PPV against David Diaz sold less than 100,000.

None of these guys except Oscar were big sellers prior to fighting big name opponents, including Mayweather; and even's Oscar's sales were the biggest he ever had against Mayweather. Mayweather is no where near as big as Oscar in terms of tickets but he was/is bigger than any of the other guys you are mentioning. The Marquez fight won't do huge numbers, but they will do better than Pac/Marquez. When he meets the winner of Cotto/Pac, the numbers will be two to three times what the Cotto/Pac fight will be.

If this is the case, why isn't Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. fighting on HBO PPV instead of Arum's self-promoted PPV telecasts? I can't remember the last time I saw Chavez Jr. fight and, if I remember correctly, he doesn't hold a world championship belt.
