Why is the Heavyweight Division so Boring?

The recent Haye Klitschko fallout reminds me how far down heavyweight has fallen in recent years.

There are recent fights like Valuev vs Holyfield and Ibragimov vs Klitschko that's so boring that's no wonder why boxing fans are now looking south, down to the lower weight class to find something to be excited about.

When I've watch Tyson in the 1980s, almost everyone in my street talk about him after his fight, now there is hardly anything to be excited about.

Where's the exciting rivalry like that of Ali vs Frazier or at least Bowe vs Holyfield?

The last heavyweight I've watch was another disappointment. Klitschko paw-pawing Chagaev. Perhaps they should call the next fight of Klitschko as pawxing instead of boxing.

When, when will Heavyweight retain its exciting status?

Its because of bad conditioning, appart from Wlad and Vitali who else is in good condition? Theyre all overweight and therefore slow and poor stamina, so they throw like 8 punches in a round and have to be tactical to win rather than using exciting K.O power

wlad isnt the most exciting fighter but if he was a yank it would be an all together storey. And it doesnt help that apart from haye and the klits the heaveyweights are fat slobs.

It's the lack of charisma. Nobody seems to know who the HW champ is. Except actual boxing fans.

i think that wlad is a great man for the sport, but hes not exciting enough and on top of that he is from eastern europe stops recognition from the US. If he was going to war every few months he would be very popular.

it's because of bad conditionating... if those guys trained well, mybe the Klits would be more aggressive

No dynamic personalities or exciting knockouts by well-conditioned athletes.
