IMO, the only way UK boxers and European boxers are gonna make it to "rock star" status is if they make their bones, paying their dues in the states. Solely based on the the fact that the money's here in America. It also has to do with packaging and marketing. Who's gonna argue that America is the mother of commercialism, major corporations, lemmings, zombies, trendy ass people...that's the recipe for selling.

I'll put it this way. The only reason why Pacquiao is where he is, is because he started fighting in the states. If he stayed in the P.I. smashing on everyone, he'd just be a local hero working for 1500 pesos a fight.

well yeah, i agree with some of it. that they should go to the states to become superstars yeah. but the thing is some of them did. what about Lennox Lewis for example he went over there, he had half of his fights in america. he beat holyfield, tyson(past it i know), klitschko and a bunch of other good guys. he dominated the heavyweight division. yet he did all that and he didnt become a superstar. and not only in boxing, what about the music industry. just look at the beatles, led zeppelin, rolling stones and so on, none of them became big superstars in america even though they went over there. damn i doubt americans even know who the beatles even was. + some american guy also shot and killed john lennon, that kinda proves that the beatles or atleast john.l wasnt very popular over there or atleast heavily disliked.

so i mean its no wonder brittish and europan fighters stay home instead of going over there, i mean they are never going to get famous or respected in the states anyway. while here in europe they will be very respected, very rich and very famous.

Because Britain's 60 million population compares to that of America's 300 million and Brazil's 100 million. Lets not forget about India's 1 billion population.
