Don't blame vernon for his own murder. He was minding his own business. Everyone reacts differently in situations and vernon decided to defend himself. Whether or not you agree with his decision, the fact of the matter is people tried to rob him and then murdered him.

Don't blame his death on him or the fact he had a gun. It's our right as americans to defend ourselves if we choose to do so.

...Any of us here with any sack whatsoever would have done the same thing.

      Rest in peace, champ.
No. you can't put a twist on this scenario. The would be carjackers are at fault. If they would have never crossed paths then he would be alive as of now. Show some compassion. It's sad that individuals don't even feel safe in thier own town or city. No one is off the radar. If the "have-nots" think they can get you, it's a rap....sick? yeah. But that's the reality. If you have never been in that type of situation you can't relate. Sorry my friend, there is no script to a robbery situation. You act off of impulse. You make rational thoughts after the situation has passed.

And how do you know his life wasn't in danger? Do you need a gun to physically threaten someone or put their lives in danger? And for the record, you DO NOT KNOW if the robbers were armed with a gun or any other type of weapon.

What do you think these thugs did, try to car jack him with a pencil?? I'm sure these thugs didn't just walk up non-aggressively and say, "excuse me kind sir, but we are going to steal your car with your son in it. Please step aside and have a nice day."

Further, what happens if someone breaks into your house? If you shoot them, oops to bad for the dead not your fault, you wont go to jail.

I find it very hard to imagine a scenario that involves someone getting CAR JACKED with their SON in the back of the car, and if that person who was getting robbed pulled out a gun and shot the car jacker, would be convicted of any crime, regardless if the jackers were armed or not. When you're being robbed, your life is in danger. You have that right to protect yourself & your family. I couldn't imagine a jury in the world that would convict someone for that, in fact it wouldn't even go to trail.

What a ****** statement. Not everyone reacts like this. Not everyone acts impulsively. Some of us are calm, relaxed and smart enough to think our way through ****. It's the difference between seeing another day and dying for the sake of nothing. Maybe you act impulsively, I don't.
You should read the new reports that have come out and judge for yourself if Vernon could have reacted differently to the situation and possibly could have prevented his death. It was a senseless killing of a great person, but in my opinion, one that he could have walked away from and prevented. That was all my point and it shouldn't take away from Vernon's greatness in and out of the ring.

RIP Champ. This is one fight I wish you walked away from.

I will say this. I kept a gun on me at all time until someone told me that a gun isnt good and it just escalates situations. He said that guys act totally different when they do have a gun and when they dont. He was right. Im not talkin about a regular cat either. He was a street cat. Ever since then I stoped carrying but a situation did happened to me right after that where I wish I did have my piece on me. However, when I think about what wouldve happened differently, I probably wouldve ended up with a murder charge.

The bottom line is every situation is different. Vernon probably wouldve been alive if he didnt have that gun but Sean Taylor probably wouldve been alive if he "did" have a gun. There are a million cases each way. My thing is that you should have a gun but you have to be extra smart and not make a move unless you absolutely have too. Dont just pull it just to pull it or pull it just because someone is threating you or maybe even robbing you. Only do it when you know your life is without a doubt in danger. The problem is most cats on the street are too dumb to go by that rule. There either young, inexperinced, or just think its cool to be a thug. Thats the guys who will end up dead or serving 25-to-life wishing they had made a different decision.

This is a forum and I'm just expressing what I thought of the Vernon Forrest murder and you are welcome to say, do whatever you want but don't tell me not to talk about anything. We should all be able to discuss this without being emotional, personal and illogical.

Too many people are getting to emotional and personal here and taking the effing piss out of something someone said. It's a forum, let's discuss ****.
