who knows what would have happened the kid if he didnt, they tried to steal the car and the boy was in it. They showed how ruthless they were in standing over him to make sure he was dead. We dont know for sure what happened, but its likely what he did could have saved the boys life

i really doubt it mattered.

these ppl shot him in the head, than stood over him and kept shooting while he was on the ground. if he hadnt had a gun he just probably wouldnt have chased them away first but they wouldve just shot him at the spot instead, and possibly his step son too.

these were some cold dudes, anyone who stands over a shot man and fires repeatedly wont have any problem shooting an unnarmed man.

I wasn't disrepecting him. I'm just basing it on the reports that he gave chase after the failed car*******. I would imagine that owning a gun gave him a sense of false security.

Point is you wasnt there and dont know exactly what happened. Many people rob you and still kill you, you dont know if those robbers were trying to even kill Vernon's kid, and he could have tried to defend then, you dont know so therefore you shouldnt be speaking on it. Show some respect, how would you like it if your mom died and everyone on message boards inserted their "professional" theories on why she died.

Thats right they probrably would have forced vernon in into the car into the back seat, then killed him and his son and left the bodies somewhere noone would find them.

they returned and killed him, and would probably have killed him on the spot had he not been armed, and who knows what wouldve happened to his son.
