cubans are very good boxers but to say they are going to dominate boxing is just dumb there top prospect gamboa is a knockout waiting to happen. if there is another cuban who is more touted than gamboa let me know

The Cubans might be able able to do well in those lower divisions fighting those fighters that look like they are anorexic, crack heads, or super models, but will never compete in divisions with normal sized human beings.
The toughest man on the planet? lol That's the corniest **** I've ever heard. I know you guys are super gassed right now cause it's all Russians in the upper divisions, but thats largely due to the fact there are no real good big guys comin from anywhere else.

And I'm not sayin Cuba would take over the heavyweights, I'm sayin Cubans are on a whole other level than the Russians lmao. The Russians are just big stiff guys, dudes who stand straight up and ****. Nothin wrong with that, lol but you comparing the Russian boxing skill to someone like the Cubans is ****in hilarious.

          ---

But once the gates open, Cubans will be gettin schooled to the American way of fighting just like everyone else. They'll more than likely take over the islands. But yeah, that just means alot more fighters and alot more wars to be had.

The cubans are not only good boxers, most of them have also verry entertaining impressive boxing styles and that makes em more marketable, more entertaining than the russia style for example.

                well said.

i dont think cubans will "take over", but they will certainly play a major role in boxing. they will be superior to both puerto ricans and russians.

it wont happen over night if the borders open up, but it wont take long for them to adapt. it all comes down to talent and hunger, cubans have that and then some. they will find much success in the pro ranks.

We all know how good Cubans are, but watch out for Dominicans and maybe PRs in the future. Did you see DRs last olympic team? In PR they started paying am boxers to stay am so they'll have better experience which is what makes Cuba so good.

what make cubans so good is their amateur program which is the best in the world by far. these kids are more dedicated and diciplined than any other nations fighters. they are also handpicked, the most athleticly gifted cuba has to offer. and only the toughest mofos on the planet make it from those who were originally chosen. their technique is also excellent.. no doubt the cubans will be a major force in pro boxing.

I'd have to agree. However, these amateurs in Cuba or the Latin American islands stay in the amateurs ranks longer. They also receive more support in the amatuer game than USA Boxing. Some transfer to the pros with little to no trouble, and others take to a fish like water.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think Gamboa is still on FNF. If he continues to perform well, he should be able to break through to mainstream boxing in no time.

I dig Cuban fighter's style. Was "Chico" Puerto Rican or Cubano? I thought he was Cubano.
