i don't recognize floyd as champ at 147, the last guy he fought at 147 was baldo, and that was'nt even a fight, floyd ran the whole night. everyone at welter has openly challenged him, but floyd and ellebre gives every excuse possible. kick rocks

The lineage was not broken in the 70s; the titles were split by politics. Different matters. Lineage went straight from Cokes to Leonard. Then Curry unified the whole division and that lineage maintained straight through to Tito. The lineage from (pick a start point: Mosley-DLH, Mosley-Forrest I, or Mayorga-Spinks) went to Mayweather.

Fine, but what happened to it after Mayweather retired?

Nothing yet. It's empty IMO; some regard Mosley as champ and some don't depending on how they feel about whether he should face Cotto again. I'm among the latter. A new lineage will spring from Mosley somewhere most likely even if its in his defeat.

I get the feeling this thread didn't go like someone had planned.
