No, it's because Barrera is an AMERICAN.

Who's really biased here? You've got to be some alt trying to make those overseas look bad.

I'm not trying to make anyone look bad. The simple fact is that British fighters get very little respect on this board and have virtually no chance of winning any poll (unless they are Lennox Lewis), so the results are always going to be lopsided. Look at all the unnecessary, bile filled hate threads for Hatton and Khan and you might just understand what I mean.

There's also the fact that most of the people voting will be far more familiar with Barrera's career than Hameds.

    Simple facts.

Unless you take a poll and truly find out who is or isn't more familiar with careers you simply can't say that. Furthermore, Hamed was a bigger star in the US then Barrera was. Finally, maybe...just maybe...people really feel Hamed couldn't beat Barrera. Think about it. It's so tiring to hear people just brush it off as nationalism. How about we look at facts???

                no it ****ing doesn't.

He's still the overrated coward with a glass jaw who was exposed and knocked out by junior jones

hamed was the star, hamed was the champion yet he had to call the names out

watching barerra quit like a coward again amir khan was very satisfying to see, that coward had that coming for over 8 years

                LOL at the mexican warrior
He didn't quit you dumbass. The Fight Stopped because of the Cut. And Barrera never quits. He whooped Hameed and your butt hurt because you found out the Prince wasn't **** compared to Barrera. Barrera is an ATG fighter and a top 5 mexican champion. What is Naz?? i'll tell you. A FRAUD. cant believe some people in here hate on real champions. it's ******.

Right i'll end this debate now, since you said yourself. His prime was 1996ish, didn't he go life and death with Manuel Medina in 1996 ? and was arguably losing until he finally caught up to him in the later rounds ?

Manuel Medina outboxed him and knocked his mouthpiece, out in one of the rounds aswell. Infact it reminded me of the MAB fight without the knockdowns, Manuel Medina was a goodish fighter but clearly not on MAB's level.

So put MAB in that fight and what happens ? Naseem Hamed was never as good as the hype suggested. Hell he was almost stopped by Paul Ingle, and had to bodyslam and resort to other dirty tactics, against Cesar Soto when he was losing.

Hamed had a chest infection whilst traing for the Medina fight. Sounds like BS, but after the fight u could tell he wasnt right.
I dont think he was at his best.

Also, Medina fights nothing like Barrera. Hamed punished him so much he quit in the 11th and was down in the 3rd.

Would Hamed always lose? Maybe. Was that the best Hamed we had seen? No.
