It's a waste of time, because the simple FACT is that if it Hamed was American he'd be doing much better in a poll on a mainly American site. People tend to vote for their countryman, in this case Barrera gets votes for 3 reasons.
1) Quite a few of the genuine unbiased boxing fans think he would beat Hamed regardless of prime.
2) Hamed is British, which means he is automatically disliked by a significant percentage of the posters on here. On a UK forum the poll would be the other way around. On a Mexican forum it would be 100% Barrera.
3) Hamed was an arrogant so-and-so and a lot of people disliked him anyway and would never acknowledge how good he was.
Maybe he would have beaten Barrera in his prime, maybe he wouldn't (we never found out because Barrera avoided him in his prime years).Comment

Yes, their bias leads them to pick Barrera, the Mexican who doesn't speak English. No, it's not because Barrera has established credentials that make him an ATG, it's not because when the two actually fought he handed Hamed his sole loss in resounding fashion. That's can't be it. People are intitled to there opinon,
thats what this poll was made for.
As a good poster and someone well up on there knowledge of boxing as Makavelli is i respect your opinon as i know there a genuine reason behind it,
its users like "IMDAZED" who dont know nothing about boxing and give ****** reasons along with there answers, and run a mile when you beat them with facts that piss me offComment

Are you for real? In the uk people were talking about a Naz-Barrera fight for 5 years before it happend! what on earth makes you think Naz was not interested in the fight? Ofcourse he was interested, he just got a whippin. Ok maybe he was not as good as he had been but either was Barrera. When naz stepped up his caliber of opponents he struggled.
Barrera wins whenever they fought.Comment

i know you guys are in the middle of a heated 'discussion' PB32 and i havent read the back pages but i'll vouch bro...IMDAZED is solid from previous posts i've read...perhaps you guys can just agree to disagree?
as for my opinion on the matter, i think NAZ has become underrated throughout the years for a variety of reasons...some with legitimacy and some thru unfair bias
however, when gauging both fighters, and giving them a rating, i would clasify NAZ as a good, explosive fighter....he would get a B+ (not saying he is a B-level fighter) grade...Marco would get an A-....these grades, in my book, are based on in-ring accomplishments, style, effectiveness and competition
although one can argue that a prime Barrera was a bit more reckless and prone to getting tagged by one of NAZ's bombs, it still boils down to a very good fighter in NAZ vs an ATG in MABComment

He wasnt interested in training or preparing for his fights,
he just got obsessed with knocking people out and got so ****y he thought he didnt have to train to do so

The only reason your praising Barrera so much is to make Pacquiaos victories over him seem more impressive. F**k off.a fighters prime has everything to do with his age. you dont see a prime fighter in their 40's now do you? barrera was just too much for little nasseem to handle. no excuses
hamed i reckon was at his absolute best againts barrera. it was his biggest fight, he had to be in his best... we all know what happened next
no argument there
we all know
barrera ducked nobody... fact
hamed otoh openly ducked marquez... fact
dont be too defensive, we all know hamed was a great boxer... just not the better oneComment
