i fought for many years, was born into this sport....i know the difference between skill and talent, but the two go hand in hand......closer than any other trait....one minute you have emanuel steward call floyd very talented...on the other hand you have goerge foreman calling floyd very skilled----talent and skill are percieved different on the surface----but they really go hand in hand.....the things roy did, he worked on in camp, that takes skill to manifest that into something magical like he did and be effective with it, which is why i called his style many times very unique.....floyd has an abundance of talent, but he knows when to go back to the fundamentals when he has to....

but throwing lead right lands and lead left hooks isn't something conservative fighters are usually trained to do...they are supposed to jab a lot more, and floyd's jab was much better than roy's jab.....but floyd is know for what? his lead right hands and left hooks, just like roy is known for his lead left hook flurries and leaping right hand leads......they both could be very unorthodox, and they both tended to rely on their reflexes, speed, and timing----which is why they got compared to each other so many times in the past.......
If you had replied to me like that the first time we could have saved a lot of arguing. I think Floyd is a great fighter, I just think as far as god given abilities such as speed/reflexes Roy is in a league of his own. Floyd has very good speed and reflexes, but I think he could be a good fighter without them. Roy has supernatural speed/reflexes and we saw what happened when they started to erode.

roy has practiced his craft many times as has floyd----what choice do they have----had they not had to practice their would be no reasons for training camps....now save your english lesson for an idiot....i'm not one....by any means....

        shadowboxing
        padwork
        double end bag work
        jump roping
        speed bag work
        sparring

all of these things are practiced.......i've seen roy train many many times and he works on what he does in the ring, he has to.....floyd also.....
Difference in training Floyd works on improving his skills and talents. Roy works more on honing is god given abilities to his advantage. You said yourself they practiced there trade the same then why does Floyd have more skill and way better fundamentals? He works on it. Roy never practiced learning all the basics because he didnt have to.

Same thing happen to ALI when he was still fighting. Oh,... and old school fighters are nothing compared to new school so dont be ******.
No he was just the most athletic..his athletic ability carried him...and when his athleticsm declined he didnt have the boxing skills top stay good...Like Hopkins is doing.

Hes the most athletic......but most talented?..No.

Hes not even in the top 10.

Roy was so good in his prime he didn't need boxing fundamentals. He was so far ahead of his time athletically. We wont see anyone that far ahead of their time for a long long time. Dude fought with his f'n hands down for crying out loud. I think natural ability wise he's up there with anyone who's ever laced them up.

Anybody who counts roy out of the top 20 P4P is probably a hater.
Anybody who thinks Floyd is better than Roy P4P is just a fool.

Our champs today would have crushed sugar Ray Robinson. The only reason you guys defend the old school fighters is because you trying to sound like you known boxing. The old school fighters are ****** and nowhere near the technical briliance of modern day fighters. So **** yall bitches dis westside homie.
