Floyd being a bigger draw than Pacquiao?

Why do people use the DLH fight to gauge who is a bigger draw? It was Pacquiao's first fight out of the lower weight classes to get him some drawing power by fighting DLH. 1.25 million isn't bad. Floyd was already a household name when he fought DLH. Pacquiao was "just some little guy" to the public.

Hatton vs Pacquiao did essentially the same as Floyd vs Hatton because it happened during the recession and was very close still.

If a fight does happen Pacquiao will probably by then be the bigger draw, he's more exciting and more people talk about him these days.

someone post some of Floyds numbers at 130 and 135 and compare them to Pacquiaos fights with Marquez, Barrera and Diaz. Just curious. lol

I think the fight should be 50-50. maybe 60-40 for Pacquiao since he's the p4p top dog right now, but that won't happen.

That's not a fair comparison...Floyd started his career there...Pac was at featherweight for a while...

Who's the bigger draw can be debatable but I know who's the better boxer...

floyds been on WWE and dancing with the stars and got alot of exposure, but he's still not a household name. I wouldnt call Floyd a fanfavorite to the likes of tyson, holyfield, odlh, etc. I know alot more people know of Manny than Floyd.

Because Floyd retired and he is their only sporting star.

            it's had to judge either.

aside from oscar and ricky all pac's ppv's were below 147.

            under 147 fights don't do great ppv's.

floyd had higher numbers for ricky and oscar but some say it was the economy also there was factors that could explain why floyd did better.

            1. the oscar fight turned people off when it was announced because pac was at 135 and had to jump 2 divisions. people talk oscar would just kill the little guy. people expected pbf-oscar to be more competitive. pbf-oscar was also for a title while pac-oscar was not.

            2. ricky was undefeated for floyd. after his loss to floyd , he lost some of his luster. the fight with floyd was also at 147 while his fight with pac was at 140.

it's also hard to compare floyd's ppv besides oscar and ricky with pac's fights before oscar and ricky.

floyd's fights did a bit better than pac's ppv wise but pac's fights are the highest grossing ever under 147. under 147 fights don't get too many ppv buys.

              i think he's joking.

to the best of my knowledge , none of floyd's fights at 130-135 were on ppv.

his first ppv was gatti i think though i could be wrong.

He's big enough to stop all the crime on the streets when he fights.

If Floyd fights him a loses, what next?

Floyd is a big draw...with the right dance partner, though. Mannys nice guy personality and fighting style seem to attract more casual fans than floyds gangsta persona.

Npe hes not. But there is something about him that made more people tune in to see him fight then the two heavyweights u mentioned. Think about this, Oscar has fought some big names but only did tht type of number with Floyd. Floyd is not on Oscar level when it comes to drawing of course but Floyd brings something to the table and people overlook it a bit. Pac is a draw and the current face of boxing. With that said I think he would have a difficult time doing 2.5 million with ANYONE thats been around the past few years.
