When u claim to be the greatest boxer who ever lived & claim to be better than sugar leonard, robinson, ali, & duran, but the best name on your resume is a

    old oscar
    castillo
    corrales
    hatton

dont expect people who follow the sport to remain mute & meek in a comments section of boxing websites.

    just dont.

If u want to talk like that be prepared to get called out. If your a fan of the guy dont get shocked people have a different opinion about the matter.

I dont need your reasons why the fights didn't happen, the point is THEY DIDN'T HAPPEN and fans would love to have seen them. As a fan of boxing I would have loved to see floyd match up with spinks/forrest/winky/shane/ & even marg in 2006. Not only that, but the odds would be tighter for all the above fights than they were for de la hoya/hatton/baldy/gatti etc.
People actually did believe Baldomir would give Floyd trouble. Big strong natural welter...wudda made Floyd fight lol

I don't know about the Winky fight at 154...I know there was talk...I think Floyd wanted most of the $ and Winky wasn't havin it

And you are probably one of the few who would wanna see PBF-Spinks

A Floyd-Shane fight would be nice to see(although past prime Shane) but don't put all the blame on Floyd for it not happening.

Spinks and Forrest wudda been interesting matchups but they don't bring in the $ that Mayweather-Hatton/Gatti would...and you know Floyd's about that buck...Spinks has done little outside of beatin Zab and Mayorga

I don't know why real boxing fans even took that seriously...he got on SRL for losing to Camacho

Floyd does contradict himself all the time...when the ego is on you shouldn't even bother listening...

When the ego is on bull**** comes outta his mouth. Such as dissing Shane for having losses...

****...he dissed Pacquiao before he came back...now he's open to fighting him

Floyd was "ducking" Baldomir prior to beating him too

of course now that fight with Baldomir is used as the measuring stick for cherry-picked fights

pacman v cotto will prolly do more than mayweather vs marquez individual wise cotto and pacman are bigger names and have bigger fanbases than marquez. but we'll see, if mayweather/marquez outdoes cotto pac that will definately give u the answer on who has the drawing power
I dont need to put up a poll I know what the answer is, and it's got nothing to do with hating. As an unbiased fan ill say hands down Cottos last 5 years of fighting he has fought tougher opposition. I also admit that career wise it would be close.

it essentially boils down to fans of lesser fighters' inferiority complexes
I'd love for you to name me another fighter with 1/10 the contradictions of Floyds. When your on top your already open for critisim that's fair enough, but if you think the criticism isn't warranted and the contradictions arent overwhelming then your a hugger & thats cool.

Fair enough. But dont give me the fanbase stuff, according to Floyd he's the cash cow and marquez has an entire country right. Cotto isnt some ppv stud. Its fair game. If floyd outsells pac ill gladly eat crow.

I love G-man but lets be honest he was on the cusp of becoming big, not quite there. Not to mention that fight was in the UK with Benn so that makes a bit of a difference also.
even so but if a person personal helped you even if he quite you have to be side by side. not if he goes down we dont care about him. It is easy to love when a person in on a winning streak rich and powerful. But it hard to love him when he is down and that is the time when he need most cheering. I dont know Duran personally but many of the people who invited him knew him personally which is a differen sitaution.

As fot he G-Man is doesnt matter he still half dead today and really having it bad. He is the type of fighter who was paid peanuts by Don King and he fought anyone anywhere type. It not only Benn but it was also Julian Jackson and other strong punchers he meet during his career effected him alot. Those fights also effect you mentally

Floyd is not immune from criticism in the slightest and i'd defy you to find a post where i (or any half-credible poster on here for that matter) has alluded to that

I think your criticism is virtually soley based on the soundbites of a professional sportsman and that's ridiculous and makes you a "hater" on the same note

Point is the odds would have been tighter for a Marg fight and fans wanted it more. Marg was calling him out left right n center.

Exactly, floyd called him out & then made demands he knew wink wouldnt take. The fans got cheated out of a great fight & thats a piss off.

I think pbf/spinks would have been one hell of a chessmatch, & yea i can appreciate the purist fights as much as the slugfests. Spinks name was mentioned, he was a champ and promoted by don king.

The last couple paragraphs is my point exactly, as a fan it sucks. if floyd cared about his fans nearly as much as his bank account i dont think there would be as much criticism.
