Floyd got haters, cause he acts like a ****in child before and after every damn fight, so I really don't see anything weird in people's reaction over him. He's a good fighter though and earned his title as P4P at the time, but surely not the greatest ever as he claimed he was.. also his image would've done better if he kept the Ali wannabe thrash talk away from the cameras more often, and didn't retire his ass to avoid fighters like Mosley and Cotto etc. I don't give a **** about ego as long it's done properly, but in his case it's just getting painful annoying to look at.

It's hard to like Floyd when he claims all this utter crap about his legacy without ever once living up to it. Ever since he left lightweight his career has consisted of fake or over the hill opponents. He claimed to be the best at 140 after beating over the hill Arturo Gatti. He claimed to be the best welterweight after beating Carlos freaking Baldomir. He claims to be the biggest draw in boxing despite his two big PPV matches being against Oscar, the greatest draw ever, and Hatton, who clearly brought most the PPV buys to the table. Then he can't sell a bull match against JMM.

I don't hate Floyd personally, but I can see some of the reasons others do. The guy needs to shut up and start fighting the best.

I have no problems with Floyd as a fighter, he has talent and is THE best BOXER right now. P4P? I'll never say yes until he at least faces people in his division that are ranked at least in the top 5. Then again, I wouldn't have any problem with him saying that he only fights for the money because it would be true. Instead, he says he's the best and he's unbeatable and that's where I have a problem. In order to be the best, you have to beat the best and in no way shape or form has he fought enough quality opposition to say that.

To make it worse fans say he goes for the big money only, and again I have no problem with that if that is what he openly admits. If that's the reason he took Baldomir or Gatti over Mosley, or, whoever else put some money on the table, that's fine. But don't ever bring up Mosley into saying he ducked Floyd because he did for the exact same reason. The problem now for Floyd is that since he took all the big money fights already, he now had to take time off and allowed Cotto, Paq, Mosley and Williams to make a huge name for themselves and now there are no more big money "safe" fights for Floyd. By doing so it cost him two years and now his "safe" fight isn't selling because no one thinks that the "smaller man" will kick Floyds ass. Which is exactly the reason Floyd gets buys... people only buy the fight to see him get his ass kicked proving that there are far more haters of Floyd than fans. Until he mans up and fights the best in HIS OWN division then he'll have a reason to call himself the best P4P and maybe get some fans.

When the ego is on bull**** comes outta his mouth. Such as dissing Shane for having losses...

****...he dissed Pacquiao before he came back...now he's open to fighting him
of course brah. i have the EM vs PAC 1 & 2. u can see fraud jr. in the front row cheering his ass off for pacquiao.

as soon as pacquiao starts getting press & recognition & start challenging fraud jr.'s status in the sport he starts hating on the guy. dont ask fans who follow the sport to ignore bull****. just b/c your a fan of the guy dont try to give him a pass & say "ohhh thats just fraud jr being fraud jr."

he is a professional athlete. he shouldnt be immune to criticism because he says bull****. u should always call him out on that. fan or journalist.

its the righteous thing to do.

Exactly, floyd called him out & then made demands he knew wink wouldnt take. The fans got cheated out of a great fight & thats a piss off.

I think pbf/spinks would have been one hell of a chessmatch, & yea i can appreciate the purist fights as much as the slugfests. Spinks name was mentioned, he was a champ and promoted by don king.

The last couple paragraphs is my point exactly, as a fan it sucks. if floyd cared about his fans nearly as much as his bank account i dont think there would be as much criticism.
If Floyd went up to 154 and fought Spinks he'd be accused of ducking Baldomir and Margarito.

The fight was being discussed for the date he fought Baldomir...bottom line is people thought the fight would suck so it never happened

Mayweather's an HBO fighter and they were hyping the **** outta Baldomir...they probably would have said hell no to a Spinks fight(who is under Showtime)

floyd gets more hate then anyone,
in reality he doesnt deserve it, he has entertained me plenty of times,

can someone explain why the hate?

"There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Manny Pacquaio has allowed to live."

"Shane Mosley can count to infinity - twice"

but it gets the same boring thing with Floyd haters.

They are boring and 90% of the time have no other boxing talk other that hatin Floyd or loving the same ethic fighters.

I been around this website for long time and I could say 80% of the thread made are about Floyd which is kinda pathetic.

Boxing is going to stay even if the fighters retire or not.

I bet when the fight get closer toward JMM fight there will be 3 thread per sec will be made about Floyd.

At the end of the day the odds on a spinks fight would have been tighter than Baldy and probably marg as well.

I think its fair to say Spinks has a bigger name than Baldomir no matter how you slice it.

Id have liked to see floyd fight these fighters where there would actually be some suspense in the ring. Its all about high reward & low risk and he takes it to the extreme. For that he's open to criticism and it aint going nowhere. If he was so great and fought all the best etc etc im sure his latest comeback would garner more attention than it has.
