              wow, you're a moron

Samuel Peter was the RING #2 ranked WBC heavyweight champion and was coming off a 6th round KO over Maskaev and a dominant shutout over James Toney.

Vitali destroyed Peter and made him quit in 8

Juan Carlos Gomez was one of the greatest cruiserweights of all time, he dominated the division and made 11 title defences. He dominated Vladimir Virchis and EARNED a title shot. Gomez is arguably the best pro Cuban boxer of all time.

Vitali dominated Gomez, knocked him down 3 times and KO'd him in 9

Vitali had to retire in his prime in 2005 because he had SERIOUS LEGIT INJURIES THAT REQUIRED SEVERAL MAJOR SURGERIES. If Vitali didn't get injured and had stayed healthy, he would've dominated the heavyweight division from 2005 - present.

LOL at you bringing up Tua, Maskaev, Ruiz, Rahman, Holyfield

Vitali would've easily destroyed all of them

Probably the last great heavy, for a long while at least. The way the division is going/gone it's to see a great champ dominating a great bunch of contenders.

peter best a 38yr old fat toney & toney was robbed the 1st fight & maskaev wasn't in his prime he was 38-39 & gomez got knocked out in 40seconds by YANQUI DIAZ...neither of those 2 would beat any of the guys I listed in their prime.maskaev & toney beat peter 5 years younger.peter wouldn't last a round with tua,Rahman.Holyfield kills him at 35,Byrd would slap him around.gomez beat no one.virshis is a joke(European who fought no one).gomez fought at cw when the division was a joke.it was 175-190 not 201 limit.

Only after he suffered brain damage after 3 wars with Holyfield! But I think bows loses to both klits.he ducked ruddock & lewis(both big men)

And yes that includes the Klits...
Lennox Lewis is the last great heavyweight. at least up until this point and his title doesnt look like it'll be threatened anytime soon.

the level of skill and competition at HW just isnt there these days.

I too think wlad and vitali (ESPECIALLY VITALI) get too much credit at times and by some are regarded too high.

My opinion is this: vitali isnt anything NOW until he finally gets in the ring again and proves it. a guy can't remain inactive for a long time and still be considered so good CURRENTLY. thats not the treatment floyd recieved (For taking the long layoff...thats why mosley is considered the worlds best WW and not floyD) so vitali shouldnt get a pass either.

With wlad i see skill...i see some talent...but more importantly i see something most of the HW's dont have...intelligence. wlad has had somewhat of an easy ride these last few years because he hasnt been challenged in my opinion.

And he's so smart because all the man does is show up...jab...jab...jab...jab...(and jab some more)....right hand...jab...jab..jab...jab...jab...right hand...jab jab jab left hook...jab jab jab and all his opponents just walk RIGHT INTO those jabs without the prescence of HEADMOVEMENT...A JAB OF THEIR OWN; etc.

is david haye and everyone on this forum the only ones who see this problem with wlad and his opponents? i dont know if they get fearful against him or what but they seem to turn into scared fighters...unwilling to punch...unwilling to move there head and do something other than keep the ear muffs on all night.

until a HW comes along and uses this headmovement...has he ability to parry the jab and return fire smart and effectively then no one will beat him.

thats pretty sad because that would mean there isnt a heavyweight who has an answer for the jab from a 6ft (someodd inch) man.

i really think wlad gives the effect tyson had when he was fighting...everyone is scared of him and it shows in the ring...the fight completely out of character compared to how his opponents look in their other fights.

note: im NOT dismissing wlad completely. in my opinion he's the best HW right now. no one else (so far) is even coming close to him in terms of skill.
