All I know is this. If I lived in the States, I would subscribe to Showtime just for their intent for putting this together. It is a great thing they are doing here and I hope they get rewarded.

While HBO tries harder and harder to control boxing, teaming up with specific promoters etc, Showtime is working hard to clarify and bring order to one of boxing's most talented divisions. That deserves props.

      Yes.

It was starting to appear like it might be the worst fall season for boxing in years, but now with with the four tournament fights in October and November, it's looking MUCH better!

Dirrell will use his speed, boxing ability and size to give Froch a clinic. I maybe can see a late stoppage for Andre but likely UD. Froch was really an excellent match up for him.

The Honey hole of this tournament is Kessler Ward. I am very impressed we get to see these guys go at it. I'll go out on a limb here and say that Ward is catching Kess in the middle of a long period of inactivity and will surprise many with a big win. See a trend here? U S A! bringin home the belts baby!

I don't think inactivity will hurt Kessler against Ward. He has a fight against Pedermo taking place that should get rid of any ring rust.

The Perdomo fight will be taking place soon, I expect, if Mikkel's fighting again in November.

Hopefully they show it on Showtime. Seeing Kessler score a brutal KO will increase interest in him+the tournament and remind people of his talent.

i bet you wont give any credit to froch or any of the euros if they win. but offcourse its like this with all americans they only give respect to american fighters. i like andre ward and maybe he can win the whole thing and if he does id give him all the respect he deserves but its a shame that lets say one of the euros win they wont get any respect what so ever from the americans if they win .

Bumped, interested to hear more opinions on this.

I've watched Dirrell's last 4 fights (or at least parts of each one if that's all I could find) and I see Froch being able to land enough that he can get the job done inside the distance.

Dirrell does have talent and the potential to beat Froch, but at this point he doesn't look like the finished article and seems to make certain mistakes that leave him open. I think this tournament has come a bit too early for him.
