So does just about everyone elses salary in the world? You think the money a plumber makes comes from the sky? No people pay him and that still doesn't mean he is gonna risk getting killed or brain dead so he can fix your ***ing plumbing now is he?

It's one thing to put on a good give and take boxing match which the ortiz fight was but if he feels he can't go on then who the *** cares. Big deal he didn't wanna get hurt I can almost guerentee that 99.9% of all the posters on this board have quit somthing in their lives at one time or another so hooray he's just like the rest of us!

I didn't say I agreed homey, but I do understand. Like I said, I don't wanna see any fighter maimed in the ring, and that fight was ill while it lasted. I personally wasn't complainin about what Ortiz did. I was satisfied wit the combat I saw in that fight. But at the same time, I won't criticize those people that didn't like his decision. I sense some bitterness here bro. As an MMA supporter, are you simply usin this situation as an opportunity to bash boxing fans? You sure are takin this personally man.

nah man this isn't a shot at boxing because i love boxing and MMA equally. in fact i'm a fan of all combat sports from Greco-roman wrestling, Kick Boxing, russian Sambo, whatever! im just a fan of fighting! but it's just upsets me that only my beloved boxing is the only of these sports where the fans feel entitled and robbed if the fighter doesn't go out and mame himself for the fans. all these old time fighters did all that from the 1920's all the way to the 1970's and what did it get them? Broke and ******ed thats what it got most of them. it just saddens me that boxing fans are so ass backwards that they think this is an acceptable form of thinking among grown adults.

Yes but he is not an entertainer, he is not being paid TO risk his life, where as a fighter is.

You cant compare industry's. its a completely different ball game, its like comparing a Soccer player to janitor, its not the same.

Ortiz is being hit too hard by critics but at the end of the day its like i said, people dont like quitters in life in general, even more so in Sportsmen where success is often determined by application and desire. People want to be associated with winners etc.
