Tell me who has manny fought that was in their prime? Floyd has a way better resume than pacman. Pacman has fought guys that were already old and on the way out. Like morales & barrera. He fought a bum in david diaz. An old dehydrated oscar, a washed up and over hyped ricky hatton. Truth be told manny has fought bums. Floyd atleast for the exception on welter weight has faced much better opposition. Hell i would ove liked to see pacman vs judah, gatti, corley, castillo. He has fought only one elite fighter in his prime or maybe a little past and tied and barely won the second, juan manuel marquez. So i know manny is very exciting but lets not get lost in the hype.

He made Eric come back down to super featherweight and DLH to WW but NEITHER was fought at a catchweight..

If you look @ it thoroughly, he made them go DOWN to his weight where he felt more comfortable, its like goin at HIS Weight, catchweight, its a legit weightclass but catching up to his.

Fighters make other fighters go up or down in weight all the time. DLH made FMJ, FMJ making JMM and Joe Louis made Billy Conn. Its a part of boxing. The only 'catchweight' fight is PAC vs Cotto if PAC signs the contract. He is complaining of stomach ulcers (might be an excuse to pull out of the fight)..

Granted that Mayweather at 147 is not that impressive
with his competition in regards to top fighters, he still
became recognized champ of the division and his career
prior to the WW's was/is impressive and he fought ALL top
prime fighters/Champions. Floyd did what Pacquiao
is doing now and that's capitalizing off of his fame in the
sport of Boxing. To say Floyd is scared of Mosley is
ludicrous considering Floyd chased Oscar/Mosley to 147,
went to Mosley/Vargas 2 and called him out on numerous
occasions. All of this is documented.

Nah, Mayweather's counter ability and patience would be a nightmare
for Manny worse than JMM was. Manny style is successful off of
fighters aggression. Pac has problems with counter punchers.

The thing is that Manny is not the same fighter that he was when he fought JMM. He has tighter technique, uses both hands and as a consequence has become more confident being the aggressor and more likely to initiate contact. His counter-punching is still excellent but he has a much wider repertoire today. There is Manny then, and Manny now.

Than, in conjunction with the stylistic differences that fighting and succeeding at a higher weight necessitate, makes me believe that Mayweather would arguably be an easier opponent for Manny than Cotto. Not saying Cotto is more talented than Mayweather but styles do make fights.
