Some people are just blind. Guzman has always wanted Pacquiao, Arum didn't think Guzman would beat Soto and wanted no part of Guzman. They saw the threat and the little reward wasn't worth it. People also act like Zamir Raheem didn't beat EM, the 2nd fight against EM was understanble, he wanted to avenge his lose, the 3rd fight should have never happend.
Pacquiao ducked many, Campbell can't name any

guzman didnt help himself by not making weight vs campbell. the impetus is on guzman to be valuable enough to warrant a match with Pacquiao, not the other way around. guzman brings absolutely nothing to the table, nothing. no fan base, no boxing stature, resume, cache, not entertaining to watch, & stunk the joint out vs soto. this Pacquiao ducked guzman is utterly weak & lame. & i dont even want to start with raheem. its the very essence of nit picking.Comment

Soto doesn't bring anything to the table either, someone both Arum and Pacquiao showed interest in fighting? You do know Soto vs Pacquiao was very close to happening, although Guzman had badly outclassed Soto.guzman didnt help himself by not making weight vs campbell. the impetus is on guzman to be valuable enough to warrant a match with Pacquiao, not the other way around. guzman brings absolutely nothing to the table, nothing. no fan base, no boxing stature, resume, cache, not entertaining to watch, & stunk the joint out vs soto. this Pacquiao ducked guzman is utterly weak & lame. & i dont even want to start with raheem. its the very essence of nit picking.Last edited by Doctor_Tenma; 07-05-2009, 09:47 PM.Comment

Lets ignore the fact that Zamir beat EM before Pacquiao did. You can't talk about "Doesn't bring anything to the table" what is Solis, David Diaz then?guzman didnt help himself by not making weight vs campbell. the impetus is on guzman to be valuable enough to warrant a match with Pacquiao, not the other way around. guzman brings absolutely nothing to the table, nothing. no fan base, no boxing stature, resume, cache, not entertaining to watch, & stunk the joint out vs soto. this Pacquiao ducked guzman is utterly weak & lame. & i dont even want to start with raheem. its the very essence of nit picking.Comment

You're wrong platano man. Guzman stunk it out against Soto and ran like a *****.
Soto should've been given that fight to teach Guzman not to fight like a *****. Guzman's stock totally dropped after that fight.Comment

and so what if zahir beat morales?
does that mean pac should jump up a division to fight him? lol
the last 2 fights with erik morales was the largest ever ppv sales for a fight below 147 until pac-jmm 2.
that was reason enough.Comment

Stunk it out? No way, Soto had him against the ropes (Couldn't land) in the middle of the ring (Couldn't land) and Guzman won almost every exchange. The problem here is that, Soto didn't believe in himself, he lost that fight in the 6 or 7th round, even the commentators spoke about Soto's discouraged look on his face.Comment

1. jorge solis was at 130 at the time. zahir was at 135.
2. plus the fight was held in san antonio. guess which boxing fan demographic they were courting? i'll give you a hint. it wasn't raheem fans.
people make such a big deal about nothing.
solis was a tuneup. a 33-0 tuneup. nothing more.Comment

solis was an undefeated tune-up in between his 3rd Morales fight and Barrera rematch....
diaz was a titlist that was used to gauge how he would do at 135
humberto soto could have brought a good sized mexican crowd and had a belt and recently just whooped Manny's brother....that's more than what Guzman would have brought to the table
so two titlists and an undefeated fighter were used for tuneups....and yet, he's still accused of ducking
