No one said anything about the rematch. That was understandable. I'm off to another thread

it wasn't an eliminator. pacquiao-velazquez and morales-raheem were a tuneup double header designed to promote the rematch.

morales fought at 135 just to try the division out. the winners weren't suppose to fight each other. it was tuneups the pre-determined that morales-pacquiao 2 was next.

if velazquez had beat pacquiao , you think morales would fight velazquez?

the fact that the rematch was still the highest selling ppv below 147 at the time (jmm-pac 2 surpassed it) tells me uncle bob made the right choice.

          ****** is as ****** does.

All those years my childhood TV hero, The Lone Ranger, called his faithful Native American sidekick "Tonto."

Fortunately, the sidekick did not comprende Spanish. If he had, "Tonto" might sliced the masked man into 14 pieces for this word means ****** en espanol.

Of course, "Tonto" called the masked man "kemo sabe" and, because this is a family website, I can't explain what it means. Let's just say motherflyer is a term of endearment relatively.

I never thought Nate Campbell was the brightest lamp in the library but I used to think he had some common sense.

But no he doesn’t even have that because now, in speaking to Indianapolis Fight Examiner Dennis DSource Guillermo,

Campbell repeats and endorses the idiotic assertion by his trainer, former world junior middleweight champion John David Jackson, that Manny Pacquiao has made a routine practice of ducking and dodging African American opponents.

Our Bay Area Boxing Examiner, Colin Seymour, posted the interview with Jackson.

Here’s Soupy’s answer to Guillermo’s question about Jackson’s senseless remarks.

Nate Campbell –“ I think John made the comment. I mean, think it was a good comment. You tell me one African-American fighter he’s (Pacquiao) fought. I mean, you can check the record. We don’t care about African fighters. We said African-American fighters. And I had a lot of fans like… “Well name any African-American fighters that are big enough to make a fight with him.” That’s not true. That’s not true. There’s been many fighters that were big enough to make a fight with him, but at the end of the day, it is what it is. The record says what it says.”

Hey, Nate, I can’t help you did not name one, not a single black American fighter who Pacman openly and notorious avoided.
You say “there’s been many” but neither you nor Jackson can name even one.

I don’t know why DSource wasn’t all over you like the proverbial cheap suit. He should have asked you to spit out a single name or more if you had them.

Not to be critical of a fellow Examiner but Campbell should have been pressed to give one example.

But he didn’t, you don’t and I am done with the Dumbest Topic In Boxing for 2008.

I don’t dislike either Soupy or Jackson but, on this synthetic issue, all I can say is you guys must have thought God was handing out “trains” when He was really dishing out “brains.”

          Many names that Manny ducked.

But you can’t identify a single, solitary one.

          That’s pathetic, it really is.

This is not about black or white, really.

It's about jealously and Campbell, like many others, is green with envy as to what Pacman has accomplished in the ring and out.

Pacman has an entire country behind him and Campbell is not even a big deal in hometown Jacksonville.

Maybe Jackson and Cambell have a point. Maybe Pacman does practice discrimination.

He's fought and beaten so many Mexicans, he must hate all Mexicans.

If ingorance is bliss, Capmbell may be the happiest guy in boxing.

          He's definitely not the smartest.

Last time I saw Nate, I said hello.

He did not reply. Now I know why.

He was stuck for an answer.

Either that or he hates white people.

I think that's a "good comment," Nate, although I can't really name one Caucasian you really hate.

Don't let the green-eyed monster, jealousy, eat you up, Soupy.

          You rocket surgeon you.

And I say that with total respect.

Btw, how come you never fought any middle-aged ***ish guys?

I usually disagree with every article this guy makes, cause some of his articles are absolute **** and just ramble on about nothing through hate and dislike, but I gotta give him props for this one cause I agreed with the point he was making... Manny hasn't ducked anyone, and this crap about him not fighting any African American fighters is a load of bull****.

Like I said, I usually don't agree with what this guy says... but he was pretty much on point this time.

              remember how i told you David Lee used to post at ClubLakers as gumbygld? they found a post he made after the finals...check this gem out;

A lot of you are including Ariza in next years roster. I HIGHLY doubt you will see Ariza in a Lakers jersey after this season, id say theres a 90% chance he opts out especially with the fact that Phil will be coach and favors Walton over him. Im sure he would even settle making the same money elsewhere where he could get more minutes. Its a LONG shot that he will be a Laker next season.

they're ignorant thats why. if they bothered to look at Pacquiao's record they would find that he fought 3 straight black guys starting with ledwaba, agapito sanchez, & jorge eliecer julio. But according to john david jackson & soupy, they aint american black. Like only american black fighters are capable of being slick. If they know anything about agapito sanchez they would find he's as slick as waingro as well as being a notoriously dirty fighter.

but i guess he doesnt count because he's not "american black."

that was after the lakers-celts finals...i think they he had a player option that he picked up for this last season...basically, Lee already had in mind that unless he got Luke Walton money, he was gonna bolt

It just annoys me how they think the race matters, Pacquiao took on the top opponents and that is it, like you said you don't need to be African American to be slick. Anyway, all this bull**** about what the race of the fighter is means jack **** to me... it is like I keep saying, its not about the race that makes you good... it is about how hard you work in the gym and dedicate yourself to get good at the sport, that's what matters... not race.

I mean, I am white... it doesn't offend me or anything, but I just think it is ****** and makes no sense... and you know I aint got anything against African American fighters either cause my favorite fighter is African American. Just like I said, the race doesn't matter... its about the skill of the fighter.
