My point was that what Goossen said makes it look that way. I'm sure Williams thinks he would beat Clottey, but that's besides the point. I was talking about how it makes Williams look.

And in view of the fact that he has been constantly claiming that all of the top Welters are too scared to fight him, the fact that he's allowing his promoter to turn down a fight with a top Welterweight - and not on the basis that he's got another fight with a belt-holder that he wants to get out of the way first, but on the basis that the #3 Welterweight in the world doesn't deserve to get a fight against him - makes him look ridiculous and like a ducker. Goossen has certainly done him no favours, and if I were Williams I would issue a statement saying that Clottey does deserve to fight him, and that if the Dzinziruk fight falls through, he'll fight him next, and failing that, he'll probably fight him after Dzinziruk.

Bob Arum has made all kinds of excuses when it came to his fighters
giving Paul Williams a shot. Cotto has NEVER mentioned Paul's name
and Paul called him out and Arum hid the fact that Goosen made a $4Mil
offer for the rematch with Paul and Margarito. Cotto didn't say he
wouldn't fight him but Arum handled it as well as with the Margarito
situation so Goosen is doing the talking for his fighter. Now to say
that Paul is ducking Clottey, you would also have to say that
Cotto and Margarito ducked Paul Williams. We already know Mosley
is blatantly ducking Paul. I say if Paul can't get Sergei then why not
give Clottey a shot. I believe at one time Sergei said Paul was
ducking him and he would fight Williams anytime.
