ur right on this horus...but the fact still remains that you are an extremely fanatical floyd fan and it pisses people off, that's why many of us hate you. floyd is hands down the most talented boxer of this generation...and i know it pisses you off that he is just 48 ATG but he hasn't fought the best people out there on their prime..that's why many ppl dont give him the credit he deserves. i mean lets be real...why coulndn't he wait one more day to fight pacquiao and decides to fight a lightweight in JMM? it's just basic common sense my man. PAC FLOYD is the fight the people wanted to see, and floyd saying **** like "who dat guy that been knocked out!?!?" like that matters...floyd is a moron, already owing 6 mill to the IRS...making it rain...he's just plain ****** and surrounds himself with ****** people too, that's why a lot of ppl hate him. i dont hate him i just think it's so bad for his legacy that he makes wrong decisions...

Agree or disagree this post was very well thought out and made some very valid points. Job well done.

Well do you think Mayweather should be named Fighter of the Decade instead of Pac?

          In my opinion, based on
          1. Talent -- Mayweather. I believe he is an inborn fighter
          2. Skills -- Pac. He is still developing them so I give him this edge. Plus we've seen him in his prehistoric formto his modern form.
          3. Offense -- pac edges may. I think this really depends on what you like. odd-angles, speedy, power punches with high workrate against highly accurate and intelligent punches.
          4. Defense -- may is leagues better than pac. pac often can get away with it because of his speed.
          5. resume -- arguable but i'll have to give this to pac. 4 lineal and weight champ against 3 lineal and 5 weight champ. You could say pac is just a 5-weight champ but he still edges pbf in the lineal category.
          6. per weight as champion
          a. pac flyweight vs may superfeather -- may , pacs reign is ****ty only notable is sasakul
          b. pac super bantam vs may LW -- may, not even comparable
          c. pac feather vs may LWW -- pac .. gatti < d. pac SFW vs may WW -- pac .. morales/marquez/barrerra>>judah/baldomir/hatton
          e. pac LW vs may SWW -- may. but both have only 1 fight there so you can only compare dlh with david diaz.
          f. pac LWW -- good only. Even though hatton was the lineal champ, I'm still not sure how pac would fare against bradley/holt/ or even ortiz (before his loss to madiana of course).

Overall. I pick pac slightly over pbf. pbf somewhat peaked on his SF-LWreign while pac is relatively still peaking.

Pacquiao resume doesnt **** on floyd..because if it did Pacquiao wouldnt have recently just got on the Pound for Pound list ojust in 2004..when he has been a pro just 1995..

Floyd was Ranked on Ring Magazine's pound-for-pound list for TEN consecutive years. 10 years.

Pacquiao was has only been on there half of that time.

Floyd has spent Three Years Atop of that List: 2005,2006,2007, End Jun/2008 (retire)
            1. 2005: http://www.boxrec.com/media/index.ph..._Ratings:_2005

You keep talking about the story of Pacquiao...and him supposedly about to recieve his 3 foy award and making history.
but If Floyd wins FOY he will have his 3rd foy award too...

            be honest with yourself
Tell me something if there wasnt a Sugar Ray Robinson., Louis, Henry Armstrong, Marvin Hagler, Pernell Whitaker, Ali, and other great black fighters.

And Floyd was truly the first great fighter of his race. You do not think he would have the hopes of 100,000,000 black people around the world?
            Be honest with yourself.

How amazing would Floyd story be?

Pacquiao Story is amazing being he is not following no great boxing tradition.

            like I said before,
Floyd is a victim of Past Fighters success.
When people want to argue floyd’s greatness who do they compared him with?

They compare him with His predecessors
SRR,SRL, ALI, HEARNS, and so on…

Imagine if Pacquiao Race produce those kinds of fighters that Floyd had to follow behind.

Do you still think Pacquiao would still be treasured as he is now… or would he just be another great fighter from a race... that has always produce great fighters like Floyd is currently in.

Pacquiao is never judge and compared to fighters like Ali, Hearns, SRL, Jones, Sugar Ray Robinson, Joe Louis, Henry Armstrong, Marvin Hagler, Pernell Whitaker etc when discussing his personal greatness...

Pacquiao gets judge on his own merit because he is the first of his race
to do what he has done. and That right there is the MAJORITY of the reason why people THIS HIS story is so appealing.

Eminem once said that if he was black he wouldnt have sold half the records
            he has sold....

Why do you think he said that?
He said it, because if he was black he would have been just another rapper
among a crowd of already great rappers.

Now let's add that logic and reasoning to Pacquiao.
Imagine if Pacquiao came from the same Boxing Lineage as Floyd Mayweather..do you think Manny would have the status he has today.

I will give you my answer:
            NO.

Manny Pacquiao is all the Pinnoy have. and that is to his advantage.
The same can not be said of Floyd Mayweather because he comes from a race that produces some many greats that he is just one of the many great champions that are black. and that is to his determent.

If you look carefully at the ATG list how many Pinnoy's are on that list?

Now If you look again how many Blacks are on that list?

Now ask yourself. Who would have a tougher time standing out on that list
            Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather.
            http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/05/12/09/...fighter-decade

When you see an article about floyd winning any FOD award we will talk. Ring Mag is mythical in their lb 4 lb rankings as well, yet you have no problem pointing out Floyd being ranked lb4lb for so long.

How would pac make lb 4 lb when he grew up fighting in the phillipines? He fought in the Phillipines entirely until 2001! It took him really 2 years after fighting in the US to make the lb4lb (after the Barrera fight) and that's when he was an actual name. Now your going to use the fact that Pac grew up in the Phillipines and had no exposure in the states as an argument against him? More power to you but that's pretty narrow sighted.

As far as your comment on the amatuer system, look i dont care about the amateur system anymore than i care about how these 2 fighters were 15 years ago as boys. You balk on pac's losses. The guy never had the grooming that mayweather had to be a boxer. If you can't understand that Pac didnt fight in the US until 2001 as reason to why he had no mainstream recognition until 2003 I'll use that same logic and apply it to why mayweather has his name on lb4lb lists longer, he's american.

Now, as far as floyd being a victim of past great fighters and you thinking he would be an inspiration to 100,000,000 african americans if it werent for greats like ali, leonard, etc that is seriously the ******est comment ive heard. If you think floyd's personality, characteristics, contradictions & selective opposition would inspire you let alone 100,000,000 people...well i think that speaks volumes about yourself.

            Again, Floyd is more talented
            Pac's the better fighter

Once again, Polls speak, historians speak.

actually, pacquiao has been compared to those greats more often as mayweather did. pacquiao has surpassed being compared to filipino fighters like Luisito Espinosa, Flash Elorde, or Pancho Villa, has surpassed being compared to great asian fighters like Fighting Harada or Khaosai Galaxy, and his climb to the weights has been compared with the likes of Henry Armstrong.

you need to take into the following points:

              1. who won more belts
              2. who fought better opposition
              3. who won more linear belts
              4. who fought in more weight classes
              5. who has a style casual fans can appreciate

for a brief moment, disregard their race, or their boxing lineage and focus on their accomplishments. for me i can say without bias that pacquiao accomplishment more than floyd in his career. this silly nitpicking won't be considered 10-20 years from now. people are gonna look at hard facts. and when it's all said and done, pacquiao would be considered greater than mayweather

I would say mayweather is the better fighter all around... pac is pretty good , But he isnt anywhere close to floyd skill wise.. plus the guys that pac beat are washed up..... Except for marquez... who actually beat him twice if you ask me..... butt pac will soon b exposed... trust me... He must be afraid to figh marquez again... Pac should'nt even get a shot at floyd until he can beat marquez without the help of judges
