tell me whats gonna happen once pac adjusts to cotto's power? And let's not talk about Cotto's head movement/defense.. cotto has to fight a real smart fight and not just bull-rush in...
wrong and btw...i'd love to see pac adjust to cotto's power..

Chop-Chop gave him a lot of trouble and had nightmares with Judah before he did his traditional thing of bitching out.

On the other hand roach doesnt sound NEARLY as sure about this as he did about Hatton and DLH. With those guys he was predicting the round, this time he's not even solidly predicting a win
cotto ain't no hatton, DLH or diaz.

Cotto is a better fighter since Corley and Judah he may not have the speed but he has good timing, power and way better defense than Hatton he's not gonna run into his punches like the hitman did he's gonna take his time find openings and land his shots. You say Cotto never face a boxer like Pacman well Pacman has never faced anyone as strong as Cotto. Pacman is good but he is not superman he will get hit and it will hurt.

Cotto and Pac are overrated. The first round of this fight will tell the tale. If Cotto can hurt Pac he wins, if he can't Cotto will be on his bike but Pac will be fast enough to catch him. After Cotto's last performance, I can't see his confidence being too high, he looks like any active fighter will beat him.

Cotto is better than the two and that is a fact. But Corley and Judah almost knocked out Cotto and we know that as a fact. But the two didn't know how to finish it and were not that busy throwing punches. If that's the same situation with Pacman, I'm sure Cotto will have a short night via KO or a long night that Pacman will capitalize and really hurt him til the final round.

Of course, Cotto is no Hatton. Hatton has poor defense especially the fight with Pacman. Didn't move his head that well and kissed the canvas. I agree with you. Still, Cotto can't defend and take Pacman's shots all time. Sometimes he get hit too like Pacman. But the question is who's gonna hit the most. Pacman is so ackward that he's so hard to hit. Will Cotto hit Pacman most of time? I think not that much. Yes, he's good at timing but timing Pacman would be a different story.

I totally agree with you. Cotto will be Pacman's biggest and dangerous opponent to date. But I want to see how much Cotto can take Pacman's hardest punch. We already know what he did to both dela Hoya and Hatton. Cotto only survived Mosley and Judah when both KD him by moving around. If he didn't and stayed in front of them we know for sure he'll not survive.

Totally agree with you. We can safely say that both dela Hoya and Hatton fights are in no way to tell us how can Pacman handle strong shots from big fighters like Cotto. Dela Hoya didn't hit him that much and that the same can be said of Hatton because it did last only in two short rounds.

I know you will not totally agree with what I have wrote but I know there's one thing that we can agree about. That this fight will be the most exciting fight this year.

Actually he said it would go 3 rounds. Merchant made reference to this in the post fight interview also.

get the fight done. make it happen for the sake of the fans. cotto is naturally bigger than pacquiao but pacquiao is smarter and faster.

pacquiao will duplicate what margarito did to cotto.

Unless Pacman is stronger than Clottey, Mosely, or Margarito expecting an early KO in Pacman's favor in delusional. Cotto has not been really hurt in the WW since he got there. In an interview with ODLH a while ago he stated that Pacman's power was lacking in the WW and he himself was surprised that Pacman wasn't able to KO him. I also think that many posters are belittling Cotto's boxing ability. Cotto outboxed Mosely en route to a win and has been showing an increased amount of skill in his matches. He's been working solidly behind the jab and been showing better movement at cutting off the ring. His timing has also been improving as was shown in the Mosely and Clottey fight. I feel very bad that we don't have a good indication of where Cotto stands at this moment because of the circumstances of his last fight, but we at least did see that his heart is still there and that he can take a good punch. We also saw that Cotto is making an effort to box and is not just looking to land big shots. He's much more patient and picking his spots better. Cotto's improved timing and power can spell disaster for Pacman, just as Pacman's constant movement and speed will for Cotto. I only say eventually Pacman will get hit and seeing how well he takes a punch at this weight will tell how the fight goes. Pacman faced little resistance from Diaz in those 9 one-sided rounds, ODLH didn't land anything in his fragile frame, and Hatton didn't last long enough to hit him with anything. With that said we still need to see how well Pacman takes a punch at 140+ pounds.
