I think cotto would be the smartest fighter pac will face. I do not diminish pac at all he is a smart fighter too. This fight will be won by the man who mixes up their best assets and excutes their skills with consistency in the fight.. the majority of the post here are so pac vs hatton like its ridiculus....

like Mr. Pink but I think he is just trying to get people agitated.. he knows boxing and I know he knows this is not easy for pac.

oh by the way pac will adjust to cottos power when he is counted out!!! hahahaha
jmm is smarter, faster and more skillful but not stronger than cotto...miguel is a dangerous opponent for pac for sure.......mr pink does'nt usually talk **** but alot of cotto fans have been making excuses already and whining too damn much....

          Lmao!!!
Pacman can definitely beat Cotto, Cotto is not too quick and still has a suspect chin. I think he will be overwhelmed with Manny's speed and power. Clottey was beating Cotto to the punch! Manny by 3rd or 4th round KO. I like Cotto but I think he was damaged against Marquez and some of the other fights at 140 that he was almost KO'd in.
First it was Cotto's chin which has looked pretty good in the WW limit and hasn't really been hurt. Not against Mosely, Margarito, or Clottey all which are stong WW. Then it was Cotto's speed. While he may not be the fastest he can find ways to neutralize it as he did to Mosely, and as he did with Judah's and won both those fights. Then it was Cotto's skill which has been improving as he is timing his punches better and being more patient behind the jab, just look at the Mosely and Clottey fight. Pacman is a great fighter and deserves the recognition he has gotten, but to assume that he will roll over Cotto is an ill conceived thought as even Freddie Roach can see that this will be the toughtest fight Manny has had recently.
and pauly maglinlani's speed also was neutralized but with power and timing...
some one else made the point.. I think it could potentially be another pauly fight for cotto. if pac can assimilate cotto's punches..

Cotto definitely has the power advantage and could drop Pac with a killer punch but I think Pac could have Cotto backpeddling in this one.

Roach says some crazy things but he does usually come upwith the correct game plan which usually is the key to Pacman's fights too.
I guess you are not listening to most people , most people here are underestimating Cotto, Half the ppl here dont give Cotto a chance in hell ,I think pacman is one of those fighters that only come around a few times in a lifetime, but i really believe he is over his head when it comes to any of the top welters such as Cotto,Mosley,Clottey even margacheeto

                  Is anyone paying attention?

Is anyone paying attention to these fighters? You got Clottey who got a decision against Cotto. Now what do you think Pacquiao is going to do? But, inevitably, when these fights are made you have everyone (including Roach) saying "so and so's strong, he's tough, this is going to be a good fight for Pacquiao." Hello! Have you seen Pacquiao fight? He's only fought big strong fighters. He's been moving up in weight class for years and every time he moves up he knocks out the "bigger, stronger guy". He's freaking Tiger Woods. He's Michael Jordan. He's on a whole other level. Only Marquez is on his level and, not surprisingly, he's ranked and has been ranked #2 pound-for-pound for a long time now. But, no one likes Marquez. Why? Well because everyone's not on his nuts yet. But just as soon as he beats Mayweather we'll have all these people come out of the woodwork claiming Marquez is their favorite fighter. You know who you are. Well, let me say it again--Pacquiao knocks out Cotto. He knocks out Mosely. He knocks out Chavez. He knocks out whoever elses obviously not on his level. Mayweather--that remains to be seen. Mayweather made his name knocking out dummies like Hatton. Who, by the way took him how many rounds to do, compared to Pac only needing 2? Mayweather needs to know if he can hang with Marquez first which is why he took that fight. He's hoping and praying that somehow Cotto beats Pac so he can fight Cotto and not have to get in with the phenom.
