According to B'talk Hopkins turned down $4 million big ones to fight Kessler in Denmark. This is a shame, I think it would have made for an intriguing clash. I would like to know why Hopkins turned it down, whether it was the money, venue or something else?

this was pre-Pavlik Hopkins so Kessler's team were trying to use him as a step-up fight... i.e. treating Kessler as the star of the show, having the fight held in Denmark etc.

Hopkins found a better deal with a more accomplished fighter in Pavlik

4 million reasons for him to travel. I don't blame for not wanting to though. He would most likely have lost.

I'm sure Kessler would have loved to go to the US. However the fight wouldn't generate the revenue it would over here.
