I applaud Victor Ortiz for quitting.

BennySt is a d*mn fool for trying to justify Ortiz's b*tch made moves he made in the ring and statements he made during the interview.
There is no preserving yourself in boxing, none! If Ortiz's logic for not taking more punishment so he'll have his wits about him after boxing. Well, I can tell you this much, Maidana is not even a great fighter, far from it. And for Ortiz to achieve greatness, he's gonna have to walk through hell to get to the pinnacle of his chosen sport.
Not wanting to take punishment to get to the top is impossible. Even the "protected" ones in boxing could not get away from it. Below are some examples....
Naz, thought he was on top until he met MAB, what happend after.
De La Joto didn't wanna suffer any punishment throughout his career, his natural ability and boxing skills made that possible for the most part. He wanted an "easy" fight against Tito and the judges saw that, guess who got the L.
De La Joto knew B-Hop was starting to hone in on him, first chance he saw a chance to quit conveniently, he took it!
RJJ won by fighting like a b*tch against Toney, sure, he got the W over JT, but he won it the cheap way. What happened once he got clocked, he was never the same!
PAC's been KO'd, beaten to a pulp, and is now the P4P #1 fighter in the world! That's a true mark of greatness!
Great fighters like PAC fight their way out of tough situations. Quitters like the fighters I mentioned above, cave in to it!
Not even going to bother with you mate.Comment

PAC is a very ambitious person, don't let his humility fool ya. PAC is like the great dictators in history, he wants to conquer the world!
......While Floyd is happy throwing $1 bills, hehe. Boy, does he wish those dollar bills can be traced, hehe, lmao.Last edited by We want Floyd; 07-04-2009, 01:04 AM.Comment

It's about time someone came about and simply said "No, I just quit because I didn't want to end up like Ali, and a complete vegetable that can't even speak, just to please a bunch of ****ing ******* on the internet who have absolutely never stepped into the ring at such a high level and had to fight for money and yet have the temerity to call me *****! I would rather come back and fight properly and healthily another day and win."
I think he gave us a good fight and will surely be back, hopefully better than ever and with the mind set to now make sure he doesn't do what wankers like the majority of this board want him to do.
Get over yourselves you bunch of hypocritical ******. Every single one of you would ****e your pants in a second if faced with the prospect of some guy across the ring who has knocked out every single one of his opponents, and he wants to literally pulverize your face into moosh.
Oh, wait, that's right, you all just sit on your arses and play on your computer typing about a fighter who gives you entertainment as being a ***** for providing you with one of the best fights of the year so far! You ****ing bunch of wanking **** ******s. Damn, I'm sick of hearing pathetic little kids whine about a fighter quitting. How many of you have been smashed in the face over and over by a guy with serious power? None of you! Christ, Id like to take a bat to some of you losers calling him a quitter or a *****. Not a single one of you who call him that would even know what it's like to step into that ring and fight someone desperate to kick your head in. You all disgust me.

I wouldn't applaud him for quitting, i wouldn't condemn him for it either. What i had a problem with was questioning his career choice during the post fight interview. Everyone makes mistakes though, and i don't expect fighters to be thinking straight after an ass whoppin' anyways, it's an emotional experience.Comment

I don't applaud him for quitting but I do applaud him for being honest and ADMIT THAT HE QUITTED. not like Alexander.Comment
