Hopkins accepted Oscars 70-30 when they fought even though he had all the belts and was considered the man and P4P number 1 at the time. He was guaranteed 10 million dollars excluding the PPV revenue, and ended up pocketing about 14 million when it was all said and done since the PPV did 1 000 000. Cotto should do the same, and he could end up with around 8-9 million.

Back to back big PPV numbers in the million mark. Its was Oscar & hatton that made the numbers, not may or pac. If Cotto fought Oscar then hatton the numbers be in the same million.

Take away Oscar & Hatton and tell me when has Manny or may gotten over 750k, how bout 500k :???:
Hatton wasnt that big a draw until they did a 24/7 with Mayweather. You can throw Mayweather into that list, no fights over 500K till 24/7 with ODLH.

Hatton's big PPVs were against both Manny and Mayweather. The only legit draw without any of them is ODLH.

Manny does have a few record PPVs set for fights below welterweight.

If Oscar isn't retired he'd still be the biggest draw. but he is retired. Hatton is a big draw in the UK but not in the US. Ricky has fought several times in the US but his only HBO PPVs are with Pac and Floyd. Pac and Floyd have had several PPVs to their credit. Especially Pac. I don't even remember the last time his fight was not on PPV.

vegas casinos pay a lot of money to hold these events.

fights in vegas also sell more expensive seats.

people that would fly to vegas for a weekend to see a fight might not fly to new york to see a fight.

Alot of these guys think it's still the 1970's, and overlook the huge money casinos bring. If that was the case megafights would be held in football and baseball stadiums.

Very true, Vegas fights generate more money, that's why all the big fights are in Vegas.

Sure Pac deserves the bigger share - but his previous fights were based on DLH and Hatton's fan base - Hatton has an entire country behind him (regardless if he's a fav in a fight or not) Cotto vs Hatton would have done just the same maybe even more...
