It's safe to say Cotto will be making around 8 million for this fight. But he should take it. If the PPV does well he could make around 8-9 million. You guys have to remember numbers mislead. Hopkins accepted Oscars 70-30 when they fought even though he had all the belts and was considered the man and P4P number 1 at the time. He was guaranteed 10 million dollars excluding the PPV revenue, and ended up pocketing about 14 million when it was all said and done since the PPV did 1 000 000. Cotto should do the same, and he could end up with around 8-9 million.

The funny thing to me is that both Maywhatever's camp & Pacman's Camp are both claimin how their the draw in boxing, yet boh of the fought Oscar first, then Hatton.

Back to back big PPV numbers in the million mark. Its was Oscar & hatton that made the numbers, not may or pac. If Cotto fought Oscar then hatton the numbers be in the same million.

Take away Oscar & Hatton and tell me when has Manny or may gotten over 750k, how bout 500k :???:

                cottos character didnt help him.

not even here in pr.. cotto has earn his fanbase just by boxingskills...

Nah. Oscar had star appeal. Miguel in all honesty looks like a gargoyle. Also teen age white girls would watch Oscar fights...Dude was a heart throb to women like a young Ali. Also Oscar could fluently speak english, and was a regular in the Holywood scene, Cotto is not.

But hey, Manny has fought them both... Cotto hasn't. End of the day, Manny's been in the bigger, more money generating fights.
