    147 = 100% credit
    145 = 80% credit

      I think the fight should be at 147... period.

      But based on the fact that Manny fought at 130 last march... I would give him credit... Not FULL credit... but due credit..

        Manny has no advantage whatsoever with Cotto only coming down by one pound. And I agree with Nat on this.

          LOL @ Cotto only coming down by one pound

          Apparently people around here think that once Cotto makes 146lbs... he just STAYS that weight until his next fight... where NOW he just has to lose ONE pound.

          Doesnt make any sense to me.

          For a man who gains 13lbs in 24 hours... Cotto DEFINITELY dehydrates down to 147 a significant amount... when you are already dehydrating 13lbs of water... TWO MORE pounds.... IS... a big deal.

          However, being that he is facing Manny, who only fought at 130 last year... I would give Manny credit for the win.

          Howver I still feel, that if you wanna be the welterweight champion... by beating the welterweight champion... you should do it at welterweight... or wait until you can.

              He has to lose ONE more pound than he did with Clottey. Make sense? It should.

              And it's his own fault he rehydrates that much. His body frame is definitely fit for 140-147, but he doesn't take care of himself between fights and parties and drinks. It's like saying Hatton really is a 190 pound guy, no he just lets himself go. No one says, oh well ricky had to lose 30+ pounds for his fight.

              Cotto isn't to that extreme but same applies. Joan Guzman has the same problem, sometimes getting up to 180 pounds but yet fights at 135. If these guys would stay in shape and relax on the partying between fights, they wouldn't have this problem.

                  ****** ain't it?

                  To those who voted "NO":

                  Plenty of fighters come in a couple of pounds under the limit in non-catchweight fights anyway. Should we not give their opponents credit if they get beaten?

                  Do you think a fighter has to weigh 147 for a 147 fight, despite the fact that anything between 140 and 147 is Welterweight?

                  Let's say Lacy came in at 173 for a fight with Roy who weighed 175 on the dot. Would Roy not deserve full credit for his win? That's exactly how your logic goes. ******ed.

                      You mean the Cotto that looked GASSED in the Clottey fight? As this to be some kind of testament he will be 110%?

                      Can you imagine if Clottey stepped on the gas pedal?

                      Pac will.
