Will you give Manny full credit if he beats Cotto @ 145 for the ww belt?

      To those who voted "NO":

Plenty of fighters come in a couple of pounds under the limit in non-catchweight fights anyway. Should we not give their opponents credit if they get beaten?

Do you think a fighter has to weigh 147 for a 147 fight, despite the fact that anything between 140 and 147 is Welterweight?

Let's say Lacy came in at 173 for a fight with Roy who weighed 175 on the dot. Would Roy not deserve full credit for his win? That's exactly how your logic goes. ******ed.

That's assuming every fighter is the same.

For Floyd Mayweather who comes in at 147 and rehydrates 3lbs to 150... 145 is nothing but a morning piss.

For Miguel Cotto who has rehydrated up to 13lbs the next day... 145 CAN be a big deal.

And the Clottey fight isnt the best example I would use as the 110% Miguel Cotto... Cut or no cut... Cotto looked gassed to me, but Clottey wouldnt step on the gas pedal.

LMAO reed, Cotto looked gassed against Clottey, Margarito and shane mosley. You can blame that on weight that has always been a problem of cotto, it's like saying Jermaine Taylor gasses every single fight he's ever been in because he's weight drained, lmao. And as i edited my last post, this probably has more to do with the fact he lets himself go a bit between fights.

          Is Pavlik NOT one dimensional?

Pavlik is a very good fighter.. that doesnt mean he isnt a good fighter..

Was Pavlik NOT the MW champion fighting at 170?

Not to get off topic here.

Cotto looked really bad against Clottey, though that isn't the Cotto I'm expecting to see against Pacquiao.

People make so much fuss over a pound of Cotto's body fat it's truly f***ing ridiculous. That's all I have to say, Reed. Oh, and his doctor says he's fine even coming down to 144 with no danger to his health. Yet people are reluctant to give full credit for a fight at 145.

Pacquiao isn;t as durable as Clottey nor can he take punches from Cotto and shake his head.

two different fighters though. Cotto has only struggled against big muscley powerful dudes like margarito and clottey. Pac is a little shrimp that was at 130. Cotto should on paper win the fight no matter what.

                    Either way you slice it.

Cotto dehydrates a significant amount of water to make 147lbs... having to cut anymore and say that it WONT effect him whatsoever isnt accurate IMO.

in your opinion is this a legit WW championship win for Manny if he wins?
As usual, it depends on how both fighters look in the ring.

Did you expect Vargas to be as shot as he was in the Mosley rematch after he looked so good in the first fight? Sometimes there aren't a ton of hints when a fighter is going to look terrible in his next fight.
