    Last time i checked the rules, welterweight 147 pounds is the limit, not the minimum, requirement.

    Welterweigth = 147-141.

    catchweight of 145 equals well within the 147-141 range.

    This is not the first time in history.

    This fight should be celeberated not complained at.

      Which gets back to my original point.

      You are essentially asking the champion of a weight class to put his belt on the line whilst not allowing him to weigh in at the limit that the championship is supposed to apply to. It is ridiculous!

      As I have said, I am happy for the fight to go ahead at a catchweight if they both agree to it, but no way should it be for a Welter title if it isn't at 147.

        I won't because Cotto isn't the same fighter (most aren't) when he has to lose so much weight for a weigh in like was evident in the Malignaggi fight. I think Pac will beat Cotto at 147 but it looks bad that he's trying to make the WW champion drain himself to get an extra advantage, especially after how bad DLH looked from losing so much weight.

            I voted no simply because I am sick of them wanting to fight WW but demanding weight lower than what the standards of the weight class entail. Arum Roach & Pac are simply playing a games where they risk the least and win or lose win the lion's share of the money and get every other advantage.

                  So what, because he often weighs in at 146 or 146 and a half it is cool to get him to come down to 144 or 145 and put his title on the line?

                  It is the WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION. Welterweights should be allowed to weigh in at 147. If you are not allowed to weigh in at 147 it should not be called a WELTERWEIGHT fight and therefore the WELTERWEIGHT title should not be on the line.
