there rly r some ****** people that think cuz cotto didn't look so good vs clottey that PAC is gonna **** him, but to compare cotto vs clottey & PAC vs cotto is just ****** any boxer that fights clottey will have the same trouble or more, also keep in mind new rookie trainer in the corner, family problems, comming of a huge loss, big azz gash over his eye & still managed to win, a close win but he won so don't be surprised if cotto looks alot better in his next fight specheally if it's someone he can hurt.

WTF more do you want? I'm starting to really dislike the latin american community in these forums. They are so ****ing racist to everyone but their masters, the whites. Blatant hate for Asians, Blacks and whatnot?! Pacquiao is an ATG fighter, he's gonna eat Cotto for breakfast. That hate made me a fan of Floyd when i got here. Now it has made me a fan of Pacquiao. Pacquiao is the future and the present. No trimmed eyebrows, doesn't quit, doesn't kiss other men, eats your puppy jk no pun intended. a real man.
1st of all if PAC could beat cotto at any weight class his team wouldn't be crying about catch weights they would fight him at 147 like they fought DLH. If u can't see that roach just wants an advantage then ur very simple minded. & as far as talking bad about Hispanics that r just trying to favor they're own shows how ignorant u r & if any Hispanic is talking bad about the black race he's just as dumb as u cuz most Hispanic races have African roots, me I'm very proud of what PAC has done for himself the fans his people & the sport but I'm also proud of cotto & am very confident that he can easyly give PAC the hardest fight of his career if the fight is done at 145 or above

I dont want the idea of a catchweight... if they like, they should have a same day weigh-in as what the greats before have done... That would be better so that no more weight drain issue come fight night but instead an old style boxing match up...

The problem with catch weight is that it drains the fighter during weigh-in but rehydrates come fight night... thus they will be fighting above the WW limit... if they are going to weigh-in on the day of the fight, then its really a WW bout...

I hope pacquiao fight cotto between 145 to 147... I think coto can make 145 easily since he weigh 146 vs clottey... so 1lb is chicken for him to make...

I don't think Clottey could beat Pacquiao because of his lack of offense, but I think Clottey is ten times better than De La Hoya and Hatton. I do think Cotto has fought the better opposition between the two here lately, if you want to eliminate Gomez and Jennings.

Yes but now Clottey wants to fight him and called him out immediately after the Cotto fight, but no response from Williams. That makes him looks bad.

Asking his opponent to come in at less than 100% is not a fair fight. It's equivalent to asking him to come in with one arm tied behind his back. If Freddie doesn't think Manny can beat top Welterweights at Welterweight, he should defend the lineal title he has just won against the top fighters in his own division.

Mosley didn't ask De La Hoya to come in at catchweight when they fought. Manny has just comprehensively destroyed the #1 rated Jnr Welterweight, and he looked stronger and more powerful than Hatton. There's no reason or historical precedent for saying he couldn't be competitive just one weight division higher.

if manny feels that he can absorb cotto's punches, he fyts at 147.
it will be great for his legace, win or lose.
manny got the punch, but can his body sustain cotto's power.
i just pray that his faculties are intact after the fyt.
Okay, we're on the same page.

Except that if he doesn't feel that way, I think he should defend his title against the top contenders in his own division, like great champions do, and forget about the Welterweights.

I think its a psychological battle of wills first and foremost. Roach is doing his job trying to unsettle Cotto even before the fight begins. Mind games more than a real physical advantage over a couple of pounds.

Cotto's nutritionist told Top Rank's Bob Arum, who promotes both fighters, that Miguel could only make a "safe" weight of 144 to 145-pounds at most. The Cotto camp would rather have it at 145. Roach wants to get Cotto down as low as possible. [details]
If Pacquiao is not confident enough to fight welterweights at their natrual weight then he should keep his ass at 140. There are plenty of fights to be made there. But this attempt to weight drain Cotto and other top weltweights is shameful and deserves no respect.
