Roach's Weight Demand Could Collapse Pacquiao vs. Cotto

Manny will kill Cotto at any weight class. But fact is, Manny was fighting at 135 a few months ago and last year he was fighting at 130!!! He already gone up 13 pounds to make 143 for Cotto. WTF more do you want? I'm starting to really dislike the latin american community in these forums. They are so ****ing racist to everyone but their masters, the whites. Blatant hate for Asians, Blacks and whatnot?! Pacquiao is an ATG fighter, he's gonna eat Cotto for breakfast. That hate made me a fan of Floyd when i got here. Now it has made me a fan of Pacquiao. Obviously some people can't comprehend WHY Roach wants a catchweight; because Pacquiao can't handle it. He was lucky enough he KO'd Hatton so early, because he has yet to be tested completely at a higher weight class. Cotto isn't a DLH or a Hatton, he's at the peak of his career and would give Pacquiao ****ing hell at 147lbs.

Even though it doesn't seem like a lot, 3lbs would make the difference in speed for Pacquiao, and would present a weight drain effect from Cotto if he doesn't drop the weight correctly like other greats in the past against Pacquiao (DLH, obviously) and give Pacquiao the upper hand.

Roach is a smart guy. He knows Pacquiao inside and out (no ****).

It's not about how Cotto was hurting people at 140 (he has always been strong) it's about how he was getting hurt at 140. Everybody has talked about Cotto's condition at the later rounds now at 147 (not that i'm saying it's true) but could you imagine that if that's true how would that come in to play with him having trouble to make weight. Cotto was getting hurt by guys like Marcus Corley (and several others) because of his weight issues and Freddie Roach knows that and what to take advantage. At 147 Cotto has been hit by stronger people than Corley (Mosely, Judah, Clottey and Margarito) and has never looked as bad as when he was hurt by the poeple at 147. As a matter of fact not even Margarito with his plaster had Cotto out his senses, at that moenet Cotto was so aware of what was going on that he decided to take a knee to try to gather from the plaster beating. This just prooves the point on how it affect Cotto to fight lower than 147.

Another thing that most of us have not mentioned is that Pacquiao went from 135lbs (Diaz) to fight at 147 (DLH) and looked, fast and strong now he only needs to go from 140 (Hatton) to 144 (Cotto). what's the problem with that is it extremely difficult to fight 4 lbs heavier form your previous fight when you already did it by fighting 12 lbs heavier than your previous fight against DLH.

Okay i hear already lots of fans in the forum saying that, is not what Pacquiao could weigh is what Cotto could weigh in fight night which will make the difference and for those people all i have is a question. What big difference will it make on Cotto's weight on fight night by weigh-in 1 lbs less (As Roach is demanding)??? You will still go back to same weight on Fight night.

The fact is that Cotto is sacrifacing alot buy going down to 144 to fight a great fighter, there is not height advantage 5'7" both and only a 1/2" reach advantage for Cotto which will leveled out due to Pacman's speed. Pacman is going to have the advantage in the revenue (not saying that he doesn't deserve it because he does) and there's a risk from Cotto regarding his deep cut could probably be a problem fighting in November so what else would Freddie Roach demand that Cotto should not be allowed to use his jab???

This fight was called out by Pacman and he requested it to be in November at 144, even i was against a catch weight especially if it was Pacman who called out Cotto, but know that Cotto agrees at 144 like Pacman wanted, not only Cotto will have no excuse if he losses but Pacman camp will have no excuse for him not to fight unless Mr Roach knows that Pacman is in grave danger fighting Cotto.

Oh, and I think this is typical business. Just like car dealers. Price says $2,000, you say I pay only $1,500, he says $1,800, you say $1,600 and that's it, he says $1,750... etc etc etc... He very well knows that Cotto has said 145, now he says 143, fight is done at 144. Usual business as always. Unless Cotto doesn't want to go down to 144, then the fight would be in jeopardy.

Cotto has agreed to fight at 144 nothing less since after the fight with Clottey and the negociations started.

Tru that a month before the Clottey fight he mentioned 145.

True Pacman fought at 135 "a few months ago" (11-1/2 months 06/26/2008) but you forgot to say on your post that after that, the fough at 147 than came done to 140 so he will actually be going up only 4 lbs for this fight if they agree at that weight. And you also failed to mentioned that he went up to 148lbs against DLH only "a few months ago"

After seeing the cotto/clottey fight I think manny might have enough to beat cotto at 145. Fighting at 143, cotto is going to be flat and weak!

Probably you saw the same thing Manny did that's why Manny called out Cotto and said the fight could be at 144 lbs.

The question here is what did Freddie see or has seen in the past that doesn't want to agree to fight at 144???

There are a bunch of millions to be disbursed, but this fight does nothing for their legacy as far as I'm concerned. If Manny wins Cotto was dehydrated, If Cotto wins Manny was a LW. I think TR used Cotto's name to get ahead of Floyd in negotiations, they bluffed, hope Cotto doesn't take it and goes back to fighting WW monsters at their weight, 2 yrs and counting.

I would not mind seeing this fight while I think there are better fight that could be made for the both of them. Maybe less money but better fights for us the fans.

Lets say Cotto Remach of Mosley and Clottey; Manny trilogy JMM or Valero.
