Is anyone thinking Pacquiao hits harder than Mosley, Marg and Clottey?
Well, according to Rashad Holloway (he has sparred with Manny and Margarito), Pacquiao's power hurt more. It's a different kind of power, however, as Manny is helped greatly by his speed. Rashad's quote:
"I agree, Manny's power hurt more. Manny's not the most technically sound fighter but he's more so than Margarito. When you have a snapping punch coming at you, a punch that you don't see with some speed on it, that's an explosive kind of power that hurts you. That's the kind of power that startles you and can put you down.
When you have a heavy-handed individual, which is what I consider Margarito, his punches aren't the type that hurt you with one shot but an accumulation of them can put you down."

As for Clottey and Mosley, I have no clue, nor does anyone else unless they've been in the ring with both of them, so all we can do is guess. Most people probably think Shane hits harder, as does Clottey, and rightly so because these are naturally bigger guys. On the other hand, I have read articles which claim Pacquiao carries power up very well as his weight increases.
How I see it: Pacquiao's power should not be underestimated. Hatton underestimated Pacquiao, as did De La Hoya, and look what hapened there. If a fighter has the correct punching technique and is able to get his full weight behind his punches -- and I believe Pacquiao is -- then Manny probably hits as hard as anyone from 140 to 147+.
I don't think Clottey is a huge puncher. His KO ratio is not spectacular by any means. It's not impossible that Pacquiao hits as hard.
So how does it play out?
Who knows?! I have Pacquiao winning no matter what the weight due to his superior speed and mobility. Coupled with the fact that Manny is on a roll and Cotto could possibly still be recovering from the Margarito fight, I think Manny has this fight in the bag. It looks to me like Cotto has lost something. Undoubtedly, he is still dangerous but he doesn't look the same as he did when he was undefeated.
I am prepared to be proved wrong. If Manny loses, that's how it was meant to be. Cotto would deserve a great deal of respect for his victory.
