Are they banking on Cotto never landing?

No disrespect to Manny, but this is a huge step up in terms of the type of power he'd be facing.
Boxing is not just about power. it's about skills, footworks, speed, power, stamina, and what strategy you'll gonna use on a certain opponent.

IMHO, at this stage, Cotto needs a great trainer. He never used to roundhouse punch so much.
I believe the BIG fights are taking their toll on him.

As i said before, the fight will be won and lost on footwork.

If Pacquaio is able to find space to fire the lead and step out, then he will probably win the fight big, cotto's taken some real punishment and I think its beggining to take its toll.

For cotto to win he has to corner manny or get right infront of him and smother him, he can't allow manny to get on his bike. Manny isnt that great moving backwards, so if cotto can establish his jab and hook to the body off that, then manny is getting ko'd.

Remember weight advantage means more when you land your punches, even at 147, if cotto cant get set to get leverage on his shots, manny still might take him out.

I'm not saying that he can't take the punches, we just don't know yet because the 2 bigger guys he fought, couldn't hit him.

Oh I agree, I was speaking only to the power issue.
