If PAC wants to fight the welter champion for the welterweight championship... then fighting at welterweight shouldnt leave the CHAMPION in a 40-60 situation. Especially when the Champion is Miguel Cotto.

        At the most 60/40 Pac only cuz he's P4P#1. Cotto's a champion at 147.

thats where politics comes into play...its all about taking names in this sport of boxing nowadays... which pacquiao has the best resume for right now... taking names

if pac fights cotto and cotto signs for a 80/20 purse.

will cotto fight??? damn no. he will not take it to waste his title.

he can fight at 145 for 60/40 split and non title fight.

                  you are right!!!

still that doesnt change the fact... that nobody is putting a gun on cotto's head to sign the contract... of course he wont be as healthly as he would be if the fight gets done @ 147..... but nobody is putting a gun on his head.. if he signs the contracts then that means.. that he agree to whatever is estipulated .. so its on fair & square

if he signs the contract @ whatever weight... its on fair & square.. he have the option to reject the offer..... but that means he will be rejecting his biggest payday.. so its up to him...

if he signs.. its on fair & square!

                      He's a WBO champion..and it's vacated title.

The WBO is the weakest and least respected of all belts.
