funny...Benard hopkins did it and won, but we didnt hear anyone crying because he's the one who was allegedly weight drained.

Now we're hearing he's a different type of fighter and he cant be compared to cotto, because....I dont know why.

it's only unfair when someone comes down 3lbs for their biggest payday ever to fight Manny, who's the undisputed #1 draw in boxing. If they want the $$$, they must meet Manny in the middle, not Manny crawling to them.

Do you think Cotto will still be around at 44 and still be a highly competitve fighter on the wrold stage? There is a big difference between B-Hop and most fighters, just because B-hop can do something does not mean others are able to. Different guys.

I really do not care about either guy, infact im likely to bet real money on Pacman especially if the odds are alright, the lower the weight the more likely he is to win, just calling a spade a spade.

so hopkins is different and Cotto cant lose 3lbs? hopkins went down alot more than 3lbs to fight dela hoya, and Cotto came in vs Clottey at 146, he would only need 2 more lbs, the size of a surf and turf burrito. We dont hear anyone complaining because Hopkins won. I dont see how Hopkins is so different from every boxer.

The only difference is he's fighting Manny, whom everyone thinks he has an advantage over every boxer in the world, who has to move up 4lbs from his previous fight.

Fight night, Cotto will most likely outweigh Manny by 4 -5 lbs. I dont see how that'll be fair.

Hopkins is on a whole different level then Cotto, if you can't understand that I don't know what to say.

I could care less about Cotto and manny, or what weight they fight at doesn't matter to me, I just don't like Cotto's chances the lower the weight, and I am most likely putting real money on Manny so........... what is your point?

Because my point was that comparing B-Hop and Cotto in regard to weight control is not the same, its like comparing a Ford to a Bentley sure a Ford may be fine and dandy but a Bentley is a superior automobile.

B-Hop is THE BEST at controling his weight, staying in shape, eatting right dude is a freak. Cotto is just average (in regard to controlling his weight and making his body bend to his will) at this as far as I can tell, when he starts doing some amazing **** like B-Hop then we can talk about Cotto being in B-Hopss league in this regard. Expecting a dude that is average to do what the best can do (in this regard) is to me asking a lot of the average guy, Cotto may be fine it remains to be seen but I will play the odds and say he can't handle it.

You seemed to take exception to my point, I will argue over anything meaningless or not

It was actually 7 years. Remember, he fought Gatti in 2001. That was at 147.

Like I said before, Cotto came in this weekend at 146, what's another 2lbs? There is millions on the line with huge business' involved. Cotto can clear 2-3 lbs.

Bickering over 2 more lbs and comparing it to a science that apparently benard hopkins, and only Benard hopkins has is a poor excuse.

Youre forgetting Cotto is a professional. High School wrestlers have to make weight all the time, SAME DAY weigh ins. Ive lost 5 lbs in 1 week before a match at 125 back in high school. Mind you, losing 5lbs at 129 is alot harder compared to 2-3 at 146.

2-3 lbs is not moving down an entire division. I dont see how this is such a huge advantage to Cotto, since most likely he'll outweigh Manny 5 -6 lbs during the fight.

2 or 3 pounds can be a HUGE deal.

only to a few conspiracy theorists on NSB. Cotto would do it for the biggest payday of his career. 2-3lbs is steak dinner. He'd gain it back minutes right after the weigh in.
