This fight SHOULD take place at 147. Either way, Cotto, who I am definetly a fan of, didn't look right against Clottey, a fight he deserved to lose. Pacquiao stops him in seven or less.

I'm agree with you a hundred percent. I'm a Cotto fan too, but rumors has it here in P.R. that Cotto won't survive 6 rounds with Pacquiao. And here're the facts: Cotto has received too many punches in his last fights. If you noticed in the last fight with Clottey his movements were too slow. Not even a light sample of his speed when he fought Judah and Mosley. You can't face Pacquiao with that kind of speed. He would hit you 20 times when you barely could throw one punch, if lucky. Also Cotto doesn't admit it but right now his corner sucks and he knows it. A good trainer makes a good fighter like Roach made Pacquiao and Nazeem Richardson made Hopkins and now Mosley. To be a winner Cotto most sign a winner trainer soon.
By other hand: You can't refuse a money offer like that one. You would be a moron if you do it. What would I do then in Cotto's position? Well, I'd train harder than ever to do the best performance of my career. And after the fight even if I win or lose I'll announce my retirement, and I'd spend the rest of my life trying to invest my money wisely.

Listen folks i think its great that your all fighting about your boxing opinions. It shows that boxing is alive and well. Remember folks people last year were saying that boxing was dead. Well screw them especially dana white (lol) seems to me that he is going down the same path that got boxing in trouble. But anyways, cotto vs pacman great fight! My take; pacman will not be able to knock cotto out. Pacman's best chances are to stay in the middle of the ring and box and move. At 147, 145, evan 144 weigh in i see a bad night for pacman. Say what you may but cotto is a tough s.o.b. Think about his , clottey with a cut eye advantage was not able to take him out or knock him down or out. Margarito (with or with out who cares) was not able to knock him out or down. Mosley with his right hands were not able to knock him down. So lets see; manny has hand speed and power but does not have welter weight power evan considering his speed. Manny when he fought iscar beat the hell out of him was not able to knock him down or out. Now consider this what is he going to do when cotto traps him in a corner and he gets hit flush with a good shot. Consider this the only good fighter in his prime that manny has fought was marquez. Ist fight marquez goes down 3x in the ist and comes back to tie the fight. In the second fight almost beats pacman if it hadnt been for the knock down. Look man i think manny is great but lets not fool ourselves manny at welter weight is not going to dominate. Hell i think evan at junior welter he would have problems. Think about bradley, guzman, campbell, evan marquez at 140. If manny loses to cotto in my book it wont matter as much because he has the heart to face a primed welter weight. Think about this scenerio pac vs cotto, cotto wins, maquez vs maweather, floyd wins. That would set up the fight i really want to see which is pacman vs marquez 3. If pacman beats marquez in that fight he has my respect, blessing, props you name it. That is a more evanly competitive fight! Floyd vs pacman i would have to say that it would be a boring fight but floyd wins by split decision. Manny will have trouble with slick boxers.

It seems to me that we are in the minority. I love Pacman! He is one of the few fighters that will get my money on a PPV event. But like you I think that folks are giving him too much credit for beating Oscar (granted that he totally outclass him) at welter. He had the speed and precision, but I did not see the devastating power. Against Cotto, he will face a busier, younger and hungry opponent in his prime that will not quite on his corner - that is unless Pacman brings cement.

The reason why I think it will be a competitive fight is not because I think that Pacman skills overshadow that of Cotto, but rather becuase I think that corner wise, Pacman has a great advantage and will have a superior game plan and Cotto will be force to go down in weight.

Let's put it this way... at full 140 I give Pacman the figth... at full 147 I give it to Cotto... in the middle... well that's another story.

Cotto's word were not to go lower than 144 not 145 so i guess that he will fight at 144.

La gente en Puerto Rico si que son negativos!! ****... Cotto speed is there trust me. Just watch the fight when he would not let Clotty push him back towards the end of some rounds. Also, when you got some one back up on the corner your not trying to be fast your trying to hit hard as to injure or ko. The one thing I agree with you is the corner. I like for Cotto to hire Nazeem...forget Steward, I think he is over rated.

Remember what Hopkins said about Cottos win over Mosley.. He said that the only reason why Cotto won was because he was able to adjust unlike Trinidad....... Remember.... Cotto can adjust... In fact he did that agains Clotty also.

pac will come in at 142 like he did vs oscar. the catchweight is for cotto to come down, pac will come in around 142 wether the fight is at 147 or lower.
