EVEN IF THE FIGHT was sold out because of Haye then how does that prove that the Heavyweight division is dead?

Dont think the HW division is dead but it has been overshadow for the last few years and am pretty sure a Wladimir Klitschko/Ruslan chagaev fight wouldnt have done 60,000 seats.

The HW division is as strong as it ever was, just not in America because they lack the talent to compete with the Europeans right now, so they hate...

it's not dead,it's just weaker than previous decades.I think it's like the early 80s.lots of decent guys who fought each other.you got alot of great fights.I'm alittle harder on todays division because my favorite guys ate retired or close too it.it is decent still as well because many 40+ heavyweights are still competetive enough to have good fights.I think theyshould all fight each other.not enough up & comers fight each other,I wish that would change.right now the klits are the best.chagaev I haven't seen enough of to really make a call on him & that goes for boytsov & dimitrenko too.chambers will see how good he is.my biggest beef with the division is not enough eastern europeans come to fight in the states.it's really the place to be if you want respect & recognition.povetkin is the best guy out there other than the klits.I've seen him fight & he's got a nice resume for 16 fights.he has been brought along the right way.too bad the klits were protected for way to long.they should have come to the states earlier in their careers to work with American sparring partners & trainers.the klits could have made a bigger legacy when it counts.liakhovich was smart,he moved to the states early got a good trainer & got to fight better guys.he won a title became a millionaire & got out.

I disagree. The Heavyweight division is AS STRONG IN THE USA AS IT ALWAYS WAS.

But in previous eras they have never been exposed to East-Europeans. It was mainly an US-internal contest. Being world champion in the 50ies-70ies is much inferior to being world champion now...

The HW division is just plain boring.

Until Haye gets in the ring with one of the Klitschko's, then i'll watch a Heavyweight match.

Like Wlad said, the heavyweight division is thriving in Europe.

Wlad/Chagaev is a HUGE fight and there is a lot of excitement in Europe. Wlad is the dominant unified IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight champ and Chagaev is the undefeated WBA heavyweight champ. The winner will become the RING Undisputed Heavyweight champion of the world....I'm pumped for this fight!!!
its thriving in eastern europe because thats all u have, and if it wasnt for the germans (who enjoy watching paint dry) you wouldnt have a case

The fans are there to see Wlad, not Haye.

Haye didn't even sell out a small venue in London for his past two fights.

There's some potentially good fights at HW. It ain't dead, it just ain't been excitin recently.
